Another area in which corruption is very rampant is the political sector.
Unfortunately, you can't seperate nigerian politics from corruption. Corruption, over the years has become a pillar of democracy. Men in power, even in the lowest level of authority, engage freely in corrupt practices.
A local government chairman would wait to be bribed by the contractor before he gives out a construction project that was already given by the state government. This shows a long line of corruption from the contractor to the local government body and most times, to the government.
Corruption, to most people, is now a way of life. It has eaten deep into the fabrics of the society and into the minds of the people. Re-orientation has to be carried on on the youths, especially those in rural areas.
The youths are the leaders of tomorrow. They have to be taught and shown the right path so that when the assume positions of power, they wouldn't indulge in corruption as their predecessors did.
