Hello fellow Hiveans!
I recon you are all gossiping viciously about Elon Musks 44 billion dollar purchase of twitter. Wether we like it or not this is reality now and there is nothing much we can do about it. Twitter is still the number one place to be if you are in NFTs and crypto in general. But this post is about something completely different...

A few of my Splinterlands guild mates where asking me about LISTNERDS and @pix21 and @oceanbee recently signed up for the basic package to get a feel for the site. In this post I will talk about my experience with Listnerds.com and show you things from my perspective.

What is listnerds.com?
Listnerds is a blockchain based mailer built on the hive blockchain, that lets you send mails to a list of users who then can open these mails and click on your link. This drives traffic to whatever destination you want, your website, your blogpost, your splashpage etc.
The advantage of this is that you are sending mails to users who opted in for the list giving you a very high return in terms of traffic.
On top of this if your mail gets verified by the readers you will earn LISTNERD tokens that can be staked to earn a higher percentage of the reward pool or can be sent to someone else or sold on the market. Win ffor everyone.
I am subscribed to the premium package on LISTNERDS.COM I wanted to give it a try and see how it would work out for me. I tried the free version of course and after reading a few mails and earning some MAIL tokens I sent my first free mail. I sent it to 63 users and of course this is not too much but I still could see some serious effects.
You can see this was way back in February and Listnerds started to make some waves and I saw Taskmaster posting about it on leofinance. He was the reason I tried it. So after seeing immediate engagement on my post from that time I decided to read as many mails as possible and logged in every day to read through all the emails. I looked at a lot of splash pages and different mailing services and I am really not a big fan of those. But I also started to see mails directly linking to blogposts on multiple hive frontends. The posts seemed to get a lot of engagement and I read more info about listnerds and the CTP tribe and the affiliate marketing school they run all based on the Hive blockchain.
I read a lot of mails at that time you got 5 MAIL tokens for reading a mail and clicking on the link in it. I collected MAIL tokens and my second email got sent 8 days later to over 800 users
You can see that a little less than 60 people opened the mail but what most counts that 26 upvoted the email and therefore verified it. Meaning a week later I got my first "hard earned" listnerd tokens.
But what even matters more is that the POST I promoted got a really healthy amount of interaction. Especially in count of reblogs. I did not promote my own post but the one of @acolytesofhelio which is the official hive account of our splinterlands guild.
On the picture you see the posts around the promoted article all have a lower number of upvotes than the one I sent to 800 listnerds via mail. Usually we have about 2-3 reblogs but the promoted post got 6 reblogs in total giving it a much higher exposure than usual.
This was the point where I decided to invest the 27$ for a premium subscription and give it a chance.
The results where instant, since I earned 20 MAIL for each mail I read instead of 5. Note this number has been modified as you can see on the next screenshot.
With the higher MAIL payout I managed to send my first SOLO mail about 12 days later but I actually did send 2500 mails while doing so on February 24th and 27th. Due to a lot of shit I have to do in real life things got a little slower and I stopped using listnerds in the middle of March. But as you can see I made a decent amount of Listnerd tokens due to one mail getting verified and the SOLO mail getting its automatic verification. The payout is enough to cover the costs of the subscription and I did not even use it to my full advantage. I could have sent 3-4 more mails If I would have stayed in the game.
I did not send thoise mails but I logged in every other day to read and click on the mails so I would earn a bit of MAIL. Almost a month later I had content I wanted to have more exposure on and sent a mail to over 1600 users. The post itself earned me a decent amount of HP and $HBD and the mail itself got verified and earned a baffling 90.6 $LISTNERDS
I decided to resubscribe for another month of premium and this time I will try to stay focused and send out every mail I can.
Ok but how do I get the earnings?
This is a little different to the usual Hive payout methods. If your mail gets 20 upvotes or more after 7 days you can claim your Listnerds by clicking on your balance on top of the screen which will take you to this menu.
After you claimed you will get them in your staked balance and will have to unstake them before you can go and trade them on the hive engine dexes. The unstaking process will take 10 weeks and there is no way around this. So your payments are delayed a bit but that is not a problem if you plan your unstaking accordingly. You can add to your unstaking balance and each time a new process of 10 weeks is started, so if you do an unstake every week you will have a weekly payout after 10 weeks.
After the unstaking process is done your balance will move to Liquid and you can transfer the tokens to your hive-engine wallet to trade them.
Is there a market for LISTNERDS?
Yes you can access the exchange for the tokens via Leodex or Tribaldex or any other decentralized exchange on the hive engine.
So how does the market for listnerds look like? Well do not be too enthusiastic. There is a 25% spread between the BUY and SELL side of the orderbook. If you would want to sell your tokens instantly you would get 1.5 HIVE per LISTNERD

Still there is a way to get some HIVE for your efforts. I have been monitoring the market every other day to see if there was a constant BUY side and I can say that you are always able to sell at least a few listnerd tokens. Enough to cover the costs of the subscription. Of course this is always changing a bit and you can't sell them in the thousands without crashing the market. The liquidity is not very high but also keep in mind that the staked LISTNERDS will earn you a bigger portion of the reward pool on site so that is quite a high incentive to keep most of them staked.
And the earned LISTNERD is not the only positive aspect, remember the exposure the promoted posts get!
I have been unstaking now for a few weeks and soon my first portion of my earnings will arrive in the LIQUID balance. I will be able to pay for my next subscription and reap even more rewards by getting my sent mails verified.
As a live test you can track the engagement on this post. I will send out my mail promoting it so we can have a look at the engagement it gets.
How much can I earn using listnerds.com?
This is a tough question to answer but for me it seems like there is a decent chance that you make a slight profit on your investment and the most important thing is that the engagement on whatever you are promoting is the most beneficial. I invested the 27$ because I wanted to have that engagement in the first place and the earnings in LISTNERDS are just an extra candy in my opinion.
