The baron's bounty is a promo card event for the NFT game on the Hive blockchain called Splinterlands The event lasts two weeks and it seems like the perfect time to take a look at how the event has been shaping up so far.
The NFT Cards
There are two cards up for grabs during this burn event. The only way to EVER get these cards is by burning DEC, Credits and Vouchers.
The legendary card Baron Fyatt costs a whopping $31.25 worth of credits or dec while the epic card Henchling Enforcer goes for $3.125. Now these prices can be reduced by burning vouchers.
In order to max out the legendary card Baron Fyatt you would need 11 cards combined for a level 4 card. To max out the rare card Henchling Enforcer you'll need 115 cards.
The Burn Levels
At the time of writing this the total amount of DEC/Credits spent to burn to get these cards is $195,148 of which the person in first Kongkvong has pushed a whopping 31,728,750 DEC yes 31.7 million DEC which is roughly $26,525.23 in DEC value being that DEC currently has a price tag of just $0.83 per 1,000 DEC.
What's Up For Grabs
For every 10,000 points earned you get one entry chance to win out of the pool of $100,000 worth of prizes. These prizes are Land, Runi, and a bunch of older and newer packs!
If you're feeling lucky I would highly suggest getting yourself at least one chance draw so you can see if you yourself lock in any of these prizes. To be honest just one entry chance could win you a $50+ prize!
For myself I'm going after those Runi mainly because it's a popular NFT on the Ethereum Opensea Blockchain which I feel would be a pretty epic item to have. Granted it also provides a boost to land which has huge value in itself in terms of operational costs. Land is a area I'm currently focused on myself. Mainly because I know it's not much at the moment but come end of year and 2025 I have a feeling it's going to be playing a major part in the game in terms of overall value and a passive income stream.
Overall the event seems to be doing pretty good. A $200,000 event is pretty sizeable and still shows us there is for sure demand for the game.
