The 18th G20 Summit was successfully conducted at Bharat Mandapam in New Delhi during 9 to 10 September, 2023. The event again highlighted India efforts and strength on the world stage. It was one of the biggest summit event and concluding it successfully was a big step towards economic development. The stage for the summit was newly built Bharat Mandapam. This is infact a new convetntion centre in Delhi, and seeing them.in news, I was very much fascinated to see it in real. So when i travelled to New Delhi, I find and oppurtunity to travel to this place. And finding it a gems of an architecture and facilities.

Bharat Mandapam is a convention center located in New Delhi, India. It is owned, operated, and managed by ITPO, an agency under the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, Government of India - wikipedia
Bharat Mandapam at Pragati Maidan, New Delhi, is an iconic masterpiece redesigned by Arcop Associates and Aedas Singapore redefines the country’s architecture. It was rebuilt for the G20 Summit. The place is well.connected with Metros train. And anyone can reach there by getting down at the "supreme court" metro station. The entrance to the hall was well surrounded by big auditorium for organising fairs and well compliemented with water bodies right in the front. At first, It looks like a ordinary building, but it is short of museum from inside. After roaming outside, I headed towards the main convention hall.
Bharat Mandapam has been inspired from “Lord Basaveshwara's concept of Anubhav Mandapam”, essentially a platform for public ceremonies.
Genersl public was not allowed to visit the place from the main front entrance. It was meant only for the VIP guest so I went inside from the back side gate. After the security, we entered into the ground floor, which happens to have multiple meeting rooms. Actually, being a convention centre, It has 3 different levels, while the ground floor is reserved for any ordinary meetings that can accomodste 200 participants, while the next level, has the executive section, it was the main centre for the G20 Summit. And it was not sort of any art Gallery. I found a well maintained art gallery in the upper section of the building, which were well guarded by the security personal.
There were two ways to make it to the upper section, either through the staircase or the escalators. We chosen the easier mode and find ourself in the art gallery. We were lost in the different artefacts kept at the place. All of them were well preserved inside the glass cabin. It was wonderful treat to eyes. The place is also lit with with lighting.
Bharat Mandapam was inaugurated by our PM Modi on 26th July 2023 and since then it has already hosted many important event. From G20 summit to inyernstiinal trade fair. However, I doubt anyone else this bioked this portion for conventio. This was purely an art gallery only for the executive clients. However, I find myself lucky enough to sneak rhrough the enjoy the difderrnt artefacts. Each of them well placed one after the another, with proper description and details written beside them.
Some of the artefacts belongs from the 20 th century. We learned that the big sprawling space is known as G20 cultural corridors. It was the spotlight of Indians rich cultural heritage. All the dignitaries, walked through this corridor while moving into and out of the summit room. It was indeed a treat to watch the rich cultural heritage showcased at the space.
During G20 Summit, this place had various other world artefacts too, but post the convention was over all of them were take back. So the place is left only with the India artefacts. Which does display the symbolic of Indian culture. Our attention then moved towards the big walls painting. It was indeed the executive meeting halls for the foreign clients. It has superb art work followed by well maintained doors.
After visiting the place, It is not wrong to say that Bharat Mandapam was, India's cultural pride during the G20 summit. It is a state of the art complex that showcases the nation's art, history, and traditions, with various facilities to organize the important meetings.
