Ever since @leogrowth put out a post about setting LEO goals for 2023, I have been waffling on whether I would participate.
Setting goals and keeping them has never been my strong suit. What usually happens when I set goals is I sprint to keep up for a while then get discouraged and quit.
However, I have really wanted to get back on track with LEO and this initiative provides an opportunity and incentive to accomplish that.
So... I am gonna give it a whirl!
If I am gonna give it a whirl, I think I will make overly ambitious goals. At least that way, if I fall short of big goals I will still be much better off than currently :-) That's what I am telling myself anyway!
Current State
In no way am I in bad shape. I am way better off than most, but not really where I would like to be for myself. This is really all that matters to me (and should be all that matters for anyone).
This should really not be a competition with others (though that can provide me incentive). Whether one has 0 LEO or 200k is not the point. It is more about how much one can improve.
My current LEO power is 69041.920
2023 LEO Power Goal
Over the last year or two I have succumbed to the shiny object syndrome. What I have really done is invest in almost every little thing that has come along on Hive.
This is certainly not a bad thing, but I always intended LEO to be my primary focus from the day Steemleo was started. Over the last couple of years, that focus has been diluted and it is time for reconcentration.
As I stated previously, I would really like to make a big goal. When thinking about it, I really feel like I should have 150K LEO Power. This means that I need to get 80958.08 more LEO Power by 12/31/2023!
This is possibly too ambitious, but I think with some careful planning and increased consistency on my part it can be done :-0
In order to accomplish this, I will need to make LEO almost my sole focus over the next year.
My Plans
In order to reach a lofty goal, I will really need to front-load LP early in the year. The quicker I build LP in the beginning -- the more likely success becomes.
Convert Fiat/Other Crypto to LEO Power
I will convert at least enough fiat/crypto each month to equal 3600 LEO, which I which I will then power up. In order to do this, I am going to dig through all of my crypto couch cushions and change every bit of unwanted crypto to LEO.
In my first month, I will hit this one hard so as to front load this process for the year. To ensure that I can make this goal outside of crypto, I will set aside $5 fiat outside of crypto per day to pile on with any crypto I can scrounge and add at the end of the month. Currently I can afford $5/day. Later, I may increase that :-)
I will also divert all of my CUB earnings back into LEO for the time being to add to this.
Curation
This is something at which I have been chronically and woefully inconsistent. I am going to attempt to keep my voting power at about 70% at all times. Quite honestly this is very simple. Just dole out votes constantly to keep it there. However, I do not want to do it this way. I would like to be more mindful and vote for quality or to those who need help.
Comment
Another area that has been spotty for me. My goal here is to average 150 comments a month. This one will not garner LEO directly, but the power of networking does bring in further LEO in the long run.
Post
I am quite simply terrible at this one. Gonna shoot low here and say 5 posts a month.
Contests
Gonna shoot for at least 10/month. This will not bring in a lot of LEO in the long run, but is low hanging fruit and does support others goals.
Threads
Another area where my efforts have been negligible. This one I will shoot for 30/month. This one also may not bring in consistent LEO, but is very important I feel for the ecosystem. The least I can do is participate.
I am sure that I will think of more goals as I go along and revise some of these. Not all of these goals earn LEO that I can power up directly, but they do help build the ecosystem and place me in the stream of potential LEO.
As far as I can estimate I can get about halfway to my goal with fiat/crypto conversion. If I am running slow on the LEO stacking, I can always make up the difference with fiat.
What I would really like to do however is use this year to really get more involved and consistent in Leofinance.
