Trying Out Rise of the Pixels Beta

A few months back, I joined the beta release of Rise of the Pixels when it launched. I bought a few packs and a studio license. The concept of having your own game development studio and creating your own games is something new for me. I know a few mobile games have similar themes to this but the inclusion of AI aspects made it very interesting.

But then I found out that the development of the game would take longer than expected. After a while, I became busy with other web3 projects and almost forgot that I had a few assets here. Then I came across Dwayne Cunningham's talk with Jarvie about the upcoming game release of Rise of the Pixels so I went back and checked what changed since its early stages.

What I immediately noticed was that I had my packs again. Apparently, there were a few game resets that happened during the beta test. I excitedly opened them and got a few epic NFTs. Each pack contains a team member and a gear which is either keyboard, mouse, monitor, and headset. After that, I equipped the gears to my developers and started to develop my first game.

When creating a game, you will choose its game genre and what system it is playable on. You will then put a title and short description of the game. You can also choose a cover art from some AI-generated images. But I decided to create my own art for the game. Here's the full description of what I made.

Game Title:
Ninja Delivery Showdown

Description:
The era of the shoguns are gone but the warring ninja clans still linger in these modern times. But instead of assassination missions, they now compete on who is the best delivery company in the world. Make your way through the concrete jungles filled with rabid dogs, gangs, and rival ninjas.

I genuinely enjoyed the concept of making your own game. Now, I have to wait 24 hours for the game to develop and I can then release it. As I understand, AI will be part of the deciding factor for the performance of the game in the market. I can't wait to try it out,

If you guys are interested in Rise of the Pixels, you can check out Dwayne Cunningham's interview of Jarvie here. There is also an ongoing promotion leading up to the game's release. You can read the post regarding it here.
