Web 3.0 is a different animal. It is time we embrace that.
We often hear discussion about MAUs. Who cares? Is this a Web 3.0 metric or is it Web 2.0 thinking that people are trying to push into the new realm.
To me, it is the latter.
While MAUs might have some validity, unlike GDP, it is, for the most part obsolete. This problem is it places the focus in the wrong area.
Just look at what it stands for.

MAU stands for monthly active users.
Here is the epitome of a Web 2.0 concept. Of course, that is not to say that users do not have a place in Web 3.0. They certainly do.
However, to focus upon this is going down the wrong path. We are seeing the results, or lack thereof, in this mistake.
Therefore, the stress has to be upon ownership. LEO does not require 1,000 MAUs. Or even 2K. Or 5K.
Instead, what it needs is 1K owners.
This will do more for the platform that a user base of 10x that amount. Those who truly take ownership the platform will do more to advance than anyone else. This is where Web 3.0 success is based.
Ownership means responsibility.
How powerful is a group of 1,000 people who take responsibility for what is taking place? At the same time, we see other aspects positively affected, such as it relates to the token.
Owners are focused upon building. They are not looking at what they can get out of it, at least not in the short term. By taking responsibility, one ceases to extract. The focus is at a much higher level.
Users simply do not care. Their loyalty is minimal, mirrored by their contribution.
This is the exact opposite of what is needed.
Those Who Are Truly Dedicated
Dedication is something that does not get a lot of attention these days. People are so short term focused that they end up not being dedicated to very much. Almost everything is transactional. This means that it can quickly be discarded.
We see this in all aspects of society.
Leo offers people the opportunity to change their approach, at least as it pertains to the digital world.
Digital platforms are masters at extracting value. Of course, this is done at the expense of the users. The natural reaction is "woe is me" followed by "they are stealing my data".
Wrong. You willingly turn it over each time you log onto the platform.
Naturally, we see how Big Tech did a masterful job of constructing a system where the siloed entities make it tough to leave. That said, Web 3.0 is presenting some alternatives.
One is Leo.
The challenge is that most are simply going to approach with their user eyes. Like in most of life, they take responsibility for nothing. It is understandable when one has no stake in what is taking place. Loyalty to x, YouTube, or Facebook makes no sense. Neither does being dedicated to a particular insurance company.
Web 3.0 is different.
If you have LEO in your wallet, you have a piece of the "digital real estate". This means it is up to you to tend to your property.
The same is true for all of us.
Leo's success is not going to come from getting a bunch of people to try out the platform. We have walked that path many times in Web 3.0, only to arrive at the same miserable results.
What Does That Do?
If there are 1,000 people to truly take an ownership mindset with Leo, things will accelerate.
To start, innovation skyrockets. People start to try different things, providing a continued path of experimentation. With a platform such as this, there are many tools for people to utilize. They also do everything they can to provide forward progress.
Another thing that happens is people start to look at each aspect of the platform in a different light. Instead of simply ignoring it, we can consider how we can make it better. Digital platforms are known for their flywheel effects, something that can be very powerful, especially in the monetary sense.
That said, they take a while to create and require some dedicated people to get them going.
In most organizations, this is done by employees, who have little choice if they want to retain their positions. While this is a barbaric way of doing things, it is how our business system is structured.
A community doesn't have that luxury.
This is why people need to take ownership. The fact is most will not. Adaptation is not within them, at least not in the early stages. Few are trailblazers. The majority always follow the crowd.
Those are the ones it is best to ignore. They will not be around in a year as something else catches their attention.
Who is most dedicated to an organization? Typically it is the owners. They are the ones who put in the long hours and look to the long term. It is here where the building comes from.
This is what Web 3.0 is in dire need of. On a smaller level, it is crucial for Leo to focus upon this.
After all, users are easy to spot. We can tell simply by their language.
