It’s the 15 of October and is time for the monthly LPUD. And the best topic that I can think to talk about is how I earn my free LEOs for this month’s power-up day.
There are many ways to earn LEO but I love those that enable me to acquire it for free. I am still being mesmerized by it, it just like magic – creating value out of simple things. 😊
I hope that I will be able to inspire someone or give them an idea of how they could also save up for the upcoming LPUDs.
But first,
What is LPUD?
LPUD stands for Leo Power Up Day. It’s the day of every month when participants would aim for a common goal of powering up, or staking, their liquid LEO. This happens every 15 of every month, Pacific Daylight Time (PDT). You can power up your liquid LEO any time of the day.

So,
What are the LPUD Rewards?
LPUD Badge
I personally want to acquire the LPUD badge every month. This is the main reason why I am participating in this month’s LPUD challenge. To acquire the LPUD badge you have to power up a total of at least 150 LEO every LPUD. Yep, one badge for each month.
20,000 LEO Power Delegation
If you have less than 20k LEO Power and have powered at least 150 LEO on the LPUD day, then you will be eligible for a 20K LEO Power delegation. But you have to make a post indicating so. There would also be bonus prizes from other community members that is ranging from 1k to 60k LEO Power Delegation.
Again, for more complete information for check the latest post from @leogrowth.
Curation Reward
If you are not lucky enough to be chosen as one of the winners, you can still earn from your staked LEO from curation rewards. This means all participants of the monthly LPUD are winners.
You can do the curation yourself or delegate your Leo Power to your favorite LEO curator for passive LEO returns.
7 Ways You Can Earn LEO Tokens for FREE
There are a ton of ways to earn the required tokens, but here are 7 ways I earned my free LEO tokens for this month’s LPUD.
Posting Finance related articles on LeoFinance
Writing finance-related quality articles with the #leofinance or #leo tag enables you to earn LEO. You can publish your article on the LeoFinance frontend or in any related community.
For those who are like me and who are just starting and wanted to earn some sizeable amount of free LEO tokens fast, then this is probably the best possible way. Any upvote from the community members and curators who have LEO stake will earn you a LEO token – aside from the Hive rewards.
Leo Threads
If you are not into financial topics or just wanted to post short content, then LeoThreads is for you. With LeoThreads, you can post any short content (240 characters max), finance related or not, that enables you to earn some LEO. Just don’t expect a big amount of LEO rewards from a single thread.
Quality Engagement
If you love reading articles on LeoFinance, then you might as well engage with the authors or other users under the comments section of the post. Some authors and users like to upvote quality comments to their posts or quality replies to their comments.
Similar to LeoThreads, don’t expect to earn a large reward from a single comment.
Participate in LeoFinance Sponsored Challenges
This is mostly posting contests and challenges, but there are some cases where they would like to share your ideas or talents, in exchange for a LEO reward. The good thing about these posting challenges is that you don’t have to worry about what topic you are to write about.
As of the time of writing, 3 accounts are hosting such contests or challenges. These are; @leogrowth, @leo.tasks, and @indiaunited. Make sure to follow them to be notified of the latest challenge.
The majority of my LEO tokens that I powered up for today’s LPUD are a reward from @leogrowth and @indiaunited.
In connection, if you’re a UX/UI designer, you might want to check this post from @leofinance. They’re giving away a total minimum of 20k LEO reward.
Delegate HP to LeoFinance’s Official Curator
If you want to support LeoFinance’s curation program, one way to do it is to delegate a portion of your Hive Power (HP) to @leo.voter – their official curation account. In return, they will give you LEO tokens as a reward.
This is the very first option that I opted for. As of now, my current delegation of 100 HP is earning me around 0.43 LEO daily. Take note that this varies and is affected by the amount of our delegation to the total delegated power to @leo.voter.
Delegate LeoPower to your favorite LEO Curator
This is very similar to delegating your HP to @leo.voter, but instead, you will be delegating your Leo Power to curators that specifically reward authors with LEO tokens. As of the time of writing, there are 3 LEO curators (@psyberx.leo, @india-leo, @leo-curator) that I can think of. Out of these 3, my personal favorite is the @leo-curator of the OneUp Cartel. 🥰
Convert Your Other Reward Tokens to LEO
Lastly, another way to earn free LEO is to convert your other free tokens to LEO. You can use the market or the pools to do so.
This is one of my initial plans while preparing for the LPUD challenge. Currently, I am looking at CubDefi and PolyCUB options to earn free tokens/coins.
Final Thoughts
There it is, my 7 ways to earn free LEO tokens. I hope that I have helped someone with this post.
How about you? Have you participated in this month’s LPUD?
If so, how are you earning your LEO tokens? Did I miss something on my list?
