Hello friends how are you? Today is LPUD and I didn't want to miss this date that I have marked as being of top importance within the month. Lately I have not been able to publish in a row as I had planned and I have also had to put several projects on pause and in this post I am going to tell you some of the reasons.
Everyone knows the problems that we Cubans go through and yet we manage to move forward and do our work and also participate in Hive. Everyone knows our problems, but knowing them is not the same as facing them daily, this is not my complaint, it is only for those who read this to really know first-hand what these difficulties are like.
The internet in Cuba is very expensive no matter how you access it, in my case the difficulty is a little greater, but I am sure that within Hive there are more like me.
As I have said on several occasions, I am from a small town called Jiquima de Pelaez, which is located in the province of Sancti Spiritus. In this small town, internet access is through mobile data, since there is no Wi-Fi, there are only 5 Nauta Hogar (internet by modem) and to top it off, the base station that gives us the service is 3G, many of you can already get an idea. what the connection is like. The maximum speed during the day is approximately 200 kb/s, which does not allow you to do much.
To establish the connection to my laptop and be able to work a little more "comfortably" if you can call it that way, I have to connect the laptop to the mobile phone using a USB cable through a host, because I do create the host via Wi-Fi due to the poor quality of the Internet disconnects constantly. As many of you know, having the phone connected by cable for many hours ends up taking a toll on the battery. But the problems don't end there.
On a normal day without doing much work, just doing a little research, reading several pages on the Internet, watching some videos, and doing a little research for the publication I am going to make consumes between approximately 800 MB and 1 GB. A "combined package" offered by the communications company ETECSA, which is the "ONLY" authorized to operate in Cuba, its least abusive plan is 3.5GB of 3G + 4.5GB of 4G + 75 minutes + 80 SMS all this for the amount of 500.00 CUP about 2.00 USD.
If we take into account daily consumption and this plan, which is the "best" plan, we would need to buy about 7 of these per month, which would be about 14 USD and this may seem cheap to many, but if we take into account that an average Cuban charges about 15 USD per month, it won't seem so cheap anymore.
The point I want to get to is that although in Hive I can help pay for this and other needs, it is not my objective within the blockchain, so I have had to reevaluate my more short-term objectives and needs a little and I am going through a period of looking for some short-term alternatives that will help me continue publishing on Hive but for the pleasure of doing it, not because of the need to make money.
That is one of the reasons why I am a little absent and that I will continue like this for a while longer, until I can find a solution to this main problem, I will not talk about the others because they are unrelated topics that influence other things and not on my dedication to creating content on Hive.
But even so I didn't want to overlook the LPUD and although I am not going to power up all the $LEO tokens that I would like, due to a strategy problem I will only stake 150 $LEO since by publishing much less I will not be able to obtain tokens this way and I want to keep the LPUDs only with tokens earned not purchased. Here I share some screenshots of the process.
I hope very soon to resolve my problems and return to creating content regularly in Hive and continue with several projects that will hopefully be there when I can return. See you next time friends and happy LPUD.
