The ANyONe (ANON) Network: Revolutionizing DePIN with ATOR Origins

If you remember ATOR and wondered where it went; well, it became the Anyone Network last year. While for a short time it's future was uncertain, it seems to me that it became more resilient through the crisis (in short, TOR kicked them off of their network). Not something unfamiliar to Hive...

A Brief History: ATOR and the Birth of Anyone Network

The Anyone Network is built on the foundation laid by ATOR and its initial aim was to leverage blockchain technology to empower users with tools for secure, decentralized communication and data sharing. Building on this commitment to privacy-first applications, the ATOR project evolved into the Anyone Network. While it was a rather smooth transition, there was the usual fud and it is true that it could have been the end of it. But the team has some pretty amazing devs and in no time they produced the relays and people started buying them to build the network. This network allows individuals to monetize their contributions, such as running nodes or sharing bandwidth - one can essentially think of it as TOR but as web3.

What is DePIN?

DePIN stands for Decentralized Physical Infrastructure Network, an emerging category in blockchain technology that connects physical assets (like hardware, sensors, or IoT (Internet of Things) devices) to decentralized networks. For example, in a DePIN system, individual users could deploy and manage IoT sensors to collect environmental data, earning rewards for their contributions to a shared, decentralized data pool. Another application could involve decentralized Wi-Fi networks, where users provide internet access in their local areas and receive compensation in return, creating a community-driven alternative to traditional ISPs. These networks aim to break down traditional, centralized control over infrastructure, allowing individuals and smaller entities to contribute and benefit from these systems. Seems like a good thing to have in an Orwellianized society, no?

You can contribute to the network by running your own hardware relay and it "only" costs $400. The interesting thing of course is that you will be rewarded in Anyone Tokens and apparently it only takes several months to get the investment back. Personally, I haven't bought one yet since I think that it will "eat away" too much of my bandwidth... But I still want to get one.

TA

I really like the chart and with a 100M supply cap I definitely see $50+ as a real possibility for 2025. A breakout to above $2 is almost certain in the next weeks (if the Trump pump happens), and at around $12 it will "only" have a 1B MC - with the amount of potential this project has I think it can go a lot higher.

Conclusion

Privacy will remain a strong theme in crypto and truly decentralized private networks will play a crucial part to counter the ever evolving surveillance states. Might be a good time to get into the game. NFA.
