Yesterday 1st of January, we joined the annual party of the Escondo's in their area. It has been the tradition of their family to have a New Year party/reunion in Putol area and since I married one they also invited our small family to join the event. It is our 2nd year and so far this is the best as we can bag many prizes compared to last year.
We are supposed to leave our house at around nine in the morning. However, the tricycle arrived at eight hence we hurriedly finished our preparation for the event. Good thing that I was already awake since five as I slept during the afternoon.
After departing from the ride we walked for around five minutes to reach our destination. Her grandparents accompanied Dyn-Dyn in walking as the way was muddy.
April jokingly told her parents that when they arrived in the area they should say that Tatay had a new child that was born recently.
Dyn's quite happy with walking as it is a new environment for her. Though we visit Putol from time to time as celebrations are held in this place it is not always that we go there.
We already saw the houses after a few minutes walk. Since there's a ton of dogs barking at us, we walked in the opposite direction to avoid any possible concerns.
We were greeted by April's aunt and cousins. Tiya was removing the skin of the unripe jackfruit as it will be included in the viand later that day.
She was almost done with the preparation as she was just cutting everything into small pieces, the coconuts were already shredded hence we just sat down for a while and left our gifts and the food that we also brought.
On the other side, Aaron unloaded the corn that he had harvested and they are now removing the husk so that these will be cooked afterward and be used in the corn-eating game.

While we are waiting for the program and food. Ren, announced that there would be raffles for each family. She decided to have a raffle instead as last year she was also included among the unlucky folks that weren't able to get one item as well.

My eyes are fixed on the rice as when I checked our pail that stores the rice it is almost close to empty. Getting two or even five kilos will be beneficial for us. April was picked and her prize was a liter of soy sauce with other condiments.
Everyone had their lunch and we proceeded with the game. The first game was egg smashing with a twist.
Blindfolded, the player needs to smash the egg placed on the ground. The family members will be shouting helping/distracting the player to reach the place of the egg however, as the assigned player draws near Tiya Den will be throwing either candies or coins to the ground creating chaos for everyone.
April got twenty pesos and chocolates in this game.
After the game, they proceeded with another one which is called Yes / No. The mechanics are quite simple the game master will just shout Yes and No and the players need to jump to the area immediately the left is Yes and the right side is the No area. As the game progresses the game master will be adding words and some of the family members are shouting too creating confusion.
The last game was called Jose Manalo game. The mechanics are quite simple too. When the game master shouts Jose they will gesture with a smiling face and when the game master shouts Manalo they will need to pose for a victory pose.
Once everyone was rested, we declared it was time for the main event, and Ren announced that it was bingo time. Each family received their card and this was used throughout the game.Angelo's the one who draws the numbers.

I played the last round as Dyn was sleeping earlier when the games were happening. The round was called blackout as we needed to mark everything to call for Bingo, sadly I did not win the grand prize and it was Aunt Azon who did. I am close already as I just need three numbers to be called. The prize was five kilos of rice which I was aiming for.
Aunt Azon, decided to forfeit the prize and advised Ren to have it back on the prize pool again.
It is nearing two in the afternoon and some need to go home including us. The blackout game will take so much time that Ren decided to have a raffle instead and the family member who got the star will be bringing home the five kilos of rice.
Unexpected April drew the starred paper. She was quiet at first as she already won the laundry bar and even the two kilos of rice in the previous games. She handed the paper to me and as Ren asked who got the marked paper I shouted that we got it. Everyone's joking that we almost bagged the major prizes and we just laugh as well saying that this is our year since last year was salty.
Even we were partying that doesn't mean that I will forget that it is Hive Power up day. Though the internet signal was scarce I was able to power up ten Hive for this event increasing my HP again.
I was also able to keep up on the power-up month last December and this year I am eyeing to complete it again. Though it is not a guarantee that I will make it again for the power-up month the best thing that I can do is to try.
I do not have a specific target HP yet but maybe in the next few days or weeks, I will be able to assess everything on my end.
