What's up plebs?!
Trumpyboy back with another silver piece. By the way, I decided to get a bit more creative with my photos, let me know what you think!
Yep once again we have a commemorative Deutsche mark, minted in 1997 and dedicated to the 500 years since the birth of Philipp Melanchthon.
Philipp Melanchthon (1497-1560) was a German scholar and reformer and a key figure along Martin Luther in the Protestant Reformation. Yeah, that's a long time ago. @silverd510 was still a toddler back then, imagine that!
Among other things Phillip is known for the Augsburg Confession, a core Lutheran statement of faith presented to the Holy Roman Emperor in 1530. Nicknamed "Praeceptor Germaniae" (for teacher of Germany), Melanchthon also reformed educational systems, shaping universities and schools across Germany. Some other nicknames he comes by are dogmatist of the Reformation, thinker of the Reformation and theologian of the confession.
Anyways, lots of things to say about him. This is just the super short version. As always, here's a link to Wikipedia in case you'd like to learn more about him.

I couldn't find much info but there's a modern book titled exactly like that. I guess it's just a random quote fitting of Phillipp who believed in the importance of dialogue and understanding in religious matters.
When it comes to silver we have the typical German recipe prior to 2000. 15.5 grams of 0.625 purity.
