Time for another eagle from the flock! If memory serves me right, this is the 6th German eagle design that I feature on my blog.
Fun fact I learned today, flock is an incorrect term when used for eagles
A “convocation” or “soar” are two collective nouns commonly used to describe a group of eagles. These terms are highly subjective and vary from country to country. source
We live to learn!
Anyways, let's see the actual coin 😂🦅
Once again we have a 10 Deutsche Mark piece, and once again it was minted in commemoration of the 1972 Olympic Games in Munich.
The eagle chosen for this piece is very similar to the one they use in their coat of arms and was designed by Siegmund Schütz. Pretty bad ass if you ask me :)
(German Coat of Arms, public domain via wikipedia)
The lettering reads in Latin "BUNDESREPUBLIK DEUTSCHLAND 10 DEUTSCHE MARK" for "Federal Republic of Germany
10 Deutsche Mark"
Moving on the other side...
Here we have a decent pair of tits two athletes, I believe a basketball player and a woman rowing. Meh. Who cares. I collect these coins for the sexy eagles. And because they are relatively cheap 😂
Engraved on the edge is the same motto as the coin I showed you two days ago
CITIUS ALTIUS FORTIUS
Which translates to "Faster, Higher, Stronger", a motto that was adopted by the International Olympic Committee (IOC) in 1894 and has since become a widely recognized symbol of the Olympic movement.
Size and weight is also the same with the coin from two days ago. 15.5 g of 0.635 purity.
Here's how it fairs compared to a pleb euro
And that pretty much sums today's silver coin! I have one German coin left to show you, again a commerorative piece for the 1972 Olympics... But I am soon expecting some more sexy German eagles. Can't have enough of them :)
Stack on!
