What's up plebs?!
As you may know I recently became super fond of Goldbacks. In case you are unfamiliar with goldbacks I will leave some info at the end of the post!
Unfortunately getting goldbacks here in my little corner of the world is next to impossible so the few I currently have were either bought or gifted to me by other peeps here in the #silvergoldstackers of hive.
And about two months ago I sent fellow stacker @summertooth a few hbd to get me some more goldbacks. And I also asked him for a buffalo nickel. That's another relatively cheap piece I love that is a bit hard to get around here.
And today my package finally got here! But @summertooth being awesome and beautiful and brave and humongous decided to add something extra! A fucking official goldback wallet!
Damn nice!
Let's open this baby up and check if everything is inside 🥳
Looks like @summertooth overdelivered 🥳 Not only did get a free wallet but also 3 cow pennies instead of just one!
Oh, there's also a Nikola Tesla post card. Is there a message on the other side?
Free dick? 🍌
I'll take it 🥳
All in all an amazing surprise 🥳🥳 So amazing I feel somewhat bad. Maybe I'll return the favor. Or not.
What are GoldBacks
As promised here's some info about goldbacks. I am lazy so this info comes straight from Google Gemini:
Goldbacks are a unique type of currency that blend gold and cash. They look like regular bills but contain a tiny layer of 24-karat gold inside. They come in denominations like regular money ($5, $10, etc.) but their value is tied to the gold they hold, not the US dollar. This means their value fluctuates with the gold price. Currently, five US states allow their use as a local currency, and they're also popular with collectors due to their intricate designs. Think of them as a gold bar you can spend like cash, but in smaller amounts.
The company Goldback, Inc. launched them in 2019, and a private mint called Valaurum actually manufactures the gold-infused plastic bills.
Ok friends this is it for today.
As always, see you with more shiny stuff !
