On August 31st, the last of the Land Airdrops ended.
This was the last major $WOO token distribution event before game launch. Land holders enjoyed a daily drop of $WOO for every land star on their account.
With this faucet turned off, the ways to get $WOO are now few and far between.
And once the game goes live, the ways to spend $WOO will increase dramatically, especially in the area of Land Upgrades. Sample UI sneak peek below, with drastically lower ‘Upgrade Costs’ so testing doesn’t burn a huge amount of tokens:
In other words, the sinks will start appearing where there once were plentiful faucets. The main way to get $WOO will be playing the game, staking the token, or providing token liquidity.
We expect supply to go down and demand to go up. Typically, that means a lot of buy pressure on the $WOO token. While no one can truly predict what the markets will do, we’re optimistic that these tokenomic changes will bring more value to the game and its assets, especially as we continue to market WOO to large and influential audiences outside of the Hive ecosystem.
Review of upcoming $WOO sinks
- Gameplay travel costs. You will need to spend $WOO to find different venues for your matches.
- Organization upgrades. Permanent buffs to your whole account will cost increasing amounts of $WOO
- Land upgrades. To earn more $WOO from matches hosted on your Land, you’ll want to strategically upgrade its facilities and attributes.
- Creating promotions and tournaments (larger scale “guild” mechanics planned for future WOO game releases)
- Much more!
A hint at what’s to come?
NFA, but: at the time of writing, $WOO is up nearly 50% due to early access testing of land upgrades alone. This is a crew of barely two dozen people stress testing the new sinks.
When the upgrades open to the public, know that the unofficial figure to fully upgrade a piece of Land is in the neighborhood of 100,000 $WOO.
There are nearly 4,000 Land plots in peoples' possession now. Over 5,000 left to buy from the game. The $WOO order book has about 1,000,000 $WOO priced for sale under 0.20 $SWAP.HIVE.
If $WOO hodlers don’t dump… well, no one knows for sure but the conditions certainly seem to suggest a certain kind of movement. 😁
