I remember perfectly well that before using social networks we were a society (my society) white and pure as the foam of the waves of the sea or perhaps, as the amorphous crystals of salt, not so white, not so pure, but the truth is that our minds were more linear, conservative and much less conflictive.
At the beginning it was only young people who conquered and built an anarchist and free society on Facebook, free expression was a success for those who had never before had a real "expressive space", maybe to other people it seems a useless circumstance but this social network has become a powerful and dangerous tool for some and liberating for others.
Facebook opened the doors of free thought in my society
This was the case for a number of years until it challenged the established thinking of some of the peoples' leaders.
Why do I like Facebook?
I like Facebook because I have had access to super nice information about dissimilar things, it is not only a place for those who like to exhibit their travels or their achievements, it is also a site where you find a variety of groups in which you can participate according to your approach in life, finding yourself as an individual contributing to society is seriously important to me.
In a voluntary conscious way I am on sites that support abused women, abandoned animals and needs of certain resources for other people, yes, that is also found on facebook although for others it sounds like fraud and scam.
But as Facebook is supposed to be a multipurpose social network, you will find everything in the Lord's vineyard.
What are the negative aspects of Facebook?
Both Facebook and Twitter are a web of cultural colonization, psychological warfare, dueling declarations, people's non-credible stories, people eating like animals, make-ups galore, scandals, sensationalism, plus the many trips, especially to the moon.
Luckily we have the wonderful key that allows us to block.
Yesterday my feed was flooded with millions of articles about the new film premiere "Breaking the Circle", starring Blake Lively and Justin Baldoni,Facebook choked on the news , how strange....I imagine they must have paid a huge sum, it doesn't matter which social network we are watching,they all need to monetise, don't they?
Others?
As for YouTube, I think it's flatter and more peaceful, even if you can see more verifiable facts and in real time than on others, but truth and lies are only divided by a thin visual line that are nicely projected on a staging set.
Everything is tainted due to manipulation.
WhatsApp is one of my favorites, it has an efficient security system, but lately it has added many channels "allowing access to breaking information" that are over the top, and the truth is that I still prefer it more private, more modest and less invasive.
Instagram, on the other hand, is mostly and in my ridiculous opinion, just about looking perfectly beautiful and flawless.
Right now the world will not do without social networks, because they have become a routine part of our lives, and addictions are difficult to accept and difficult to manage, and the big problem is that they are constantly being used to manipulate your opinion, your tastes, your priorities, and your life.
You wake up with your cell phone in your hands, and you go to bed with your eyes on the last message you got from Hive, Messenger, or WhatsApp.
Social networks have turned you into a codependent individual of your cell phone,but beyond that, you decide whether you let yourself be manipulated by them or not.
