As agreed under mandate ⟒⌖⌿⟒⎅⟟⏁⟟⍜⋏: ⟒⏃⍀⏁⊑ we have visited planet Earth and below are our key findings. We thought it would be amusing to report back in one of their native languages. The natives call it English.
Environment and Habitat
When we first approached the planet Earth, we were amazed by the rich landscape, the vast oceans and the variety of minerals and natural resources. As we probed the planet with our sensors, we realised that Earth had the perfect ecosystem to support sophisticated life forms.
However, it also quickly became apparent on our mission that the native Human beings had no real plan on how to use the resources productively or sustainably. They consume the resources with a naive belief that the resources will be abundant forever. To make matters even worse, they consume the resources with primitive methods that harm their own environment and is risking the long term viability of their ecosystem. Often their industrial complexes pump toxins into their atmosphere which is slowly killing them. It beggars belief.
We investigated the root causes of this behaviour further.
The Human beings
The dominant species on planet Earth that are creating all this destruction is an intriguing animal called Humans. As individuals, they have adapted well to master their environment and have created reasonably sophisticated tools and technologies in areas such as transportation and manufacturing. This has allowed them to dominate the planet and extend all aspects of their planet for their society.
Most of the humans that we met are really nice and they display some good qualities such as kindness, generosity and service to their community. However, this unfortunately isn't universal and there are others in their society who seem to be determined to ensure destruction and have lust for personal wealth and power.
This results in their society being unstable despite their advancement and their luxury of natural resources.
The Human society
The Humans have developed from a primitive form of society where they were organised into local tribes. The tribes used to fight each other for land and wealth. Despite the advancement of their society they have not managed to move beyond this tribalistic tendency. This manifests itself as distrust between the structures that they form to organise their society. At the highest level they call these structures countries and it is not uncommon for countries to fight each other. However, underneath these, are also more regional political, religious or social structures that also often have distrust for each other. This love for fighting each other is holding back their further advancement and may just risk their long term survival.
Furthermore, to amplify this problem, the structure of Human society rewards those with wealth and power. Because not all humans have the universal care for their society and live life with a lust for wealth and power, the result is that these people rise to the top of society over time. Their leaders have the wealth and power and have no appetite to help the wider global community, use natural resources effectively or think about the sustainable use of resources on their planet. This leaves their human society with a strange balance of power where despite finding that most Human beings are good people, their leaders are some of the worst and will eventually result in their self-destruction.
