I haven't attended the mass at our local church for two Sundays lately though I'm not that busy. I'm just sticking to my bed as much as I can since I can't do this much when the classes will start at the first week of September. It was also making me feel guilty not to attend. It's like a feeling that your parents is sulking towards you and you want to make up with your mistake to have their forgiveness, something like that. Aside from that, I also have to buy school supplies for me and my daughter, so I really have to go.
Here is a photo of the San Sebastian Cathedral once again. |
I wanted to attend the mass at 4 pm but I arrived 30 minutes earlier. It wass embarassing to just stand there outside doing nothing while there was still an ongoing mass inside, so I also attended it though it was just halfway. I stood there outside listening to the priest along with the other late attendees.
After the 3 pm mass, the people inside were slowly replaced by the people who will attend the 4 pm mass and I'm one of those. Though I had attended the previous mass halfway, I can't hear the priest's voice clearly at the doorway. It was another guilty feeling to leave without learning anything.
I have been living in Bacolod for almost 7 years now but this was my first time stepping inside this church and attending a mass here. The decors inside is as classy as its appearance outside but more modern.
Few minutes passed, the seats were again fully occupied and the next priest was also ready, then, there he started. I set my phone on silent mode and kept it in my bag, so I can focused since I was chatting on Discord while waiting.
I exited here at the side door because I got curious of people gathering here even if there was still an ongoing mass inside. My Marites sense was activated. I looked around at that area for a while to find my answers. Then, there I saw that people were lighting candles and praying to the statue of the Virgin Mary and other saints. I don't believe in that kind of practice though I'm a catholic, so I just took my leave after my curiosity was satisfied.
I saw these two Centennial Bells on the right side of the entrance. There were a lot of people taking pictures with it, so I waited for the place to be cleared out before I could get a good picture of it.
I went down to the mall after it since there would be another mass for their 5 pm schedule.
Paintings on liqour barrels | by the Tanduay Rhum Fest Artists |
They held an art exhibit at Art District on the opening program of the Tanduay Rhum Festival last August 12, 2022 but I didn't know about it that time and it was late when I found out. Unfortunately, I didn't get to watch the exhibits. I also didn't get to watch the live bands which they feature some popular bands at the closing of the festival. It was always a problem when it is held at night. I'm afraid to go out at night, especially when I'm alone. 🥺
I went to National Book Store (my favorite place) to buy supplies. It's surely the opening of classes, the vibe is everywhere.
most of the supplies | are sold out |
Mostly, the supplies that were sold out was the school supplies for elementary students like crayons, pencils, pad papers, and bond papers. Also, I can't find bookbinds and its page refills, yellow pads, and index cards there. I only got few of what I intended to buy. I have to go the market when they have sales on the next day or to another mall to complete the things I needed. I should have bought these things in advance. My bad.
