(WE 92) CRISTIANO RONALDO HAS BEEN AN INSPIRATION.

Its not until one has a personal relationship with a fellow human being before one can learn from or be inspired by them. it is even more logical to be inspired by someone who is higher in status and achievement. I have a lot of senior colleagues in my profession who has been an inspiration but life in general is beyond career path.

I had no difficulty settling for this option among the out listed topics as someone came to mind easily and that is Cristiano Ronaldo.

I've been a Chelsea Fan since the age of 10 but I love Cristiano Ronaldo. After his initial stay at Manchester united, I practically became a fan of every club he has played for.

Who has inspired you to be your best self? Tell us who it is, how they inspired you

Like I've stated, its Cristiano Ronaldo for me. He's got some positive attributes that has inspired many. The obvious ones among many others include:

  • Self discipline and hard work.
To be successful in life, one must have some personal self developed attributes and drive.
This guy is an example of discipline, dedication and commitment. I know he has a personalized dietary lifestyle which keeps him fit and a crazy training plan which includes 3-4hrs of training 5x a week. You've got to see him when he's working out in his gym. People wonder why he doesn't get injured often and I think this is the obvious reason.
When playing on the field he's also always eager to help the team by scoring goals.

  • Passion
Passion is very evident in him. He doesn't settle for less and this has driven him to be considered one of the greatest footballer of all time. He's achieved a lot and set records that may not be broken in the nearest future.

  • Managing and Diversifying wealth
Although Cristiano is a known footballer, he's not limited to that and that is part of why I like him. I hate being a one way traffic kind of human. Being able to diversify abilities and manage the resulting wealth appropriately is a great attribute. Is it his luxurious hotels we'll consider or his productive assets. His body and smile alone is money being an ambassador for a lot of brands.

  • Embracing challenges
He likes it hard. He likes challenging himself and engaging beyond his comfort zone. Its easier to just stay in one club and achieve it all there. He has gone round, set challenges for himself, overcome the challenges and even excelled with some unbreakable records. At 37, he's still playing for one of the big clubs in the world and still performing above average with respect to his age. He even scored a hatrick yesterday and I think that's crazy.

  • Leadership
The Portugal national team's success under him as a captain is awesome. No one would expect that team to win a continental trophy talk less of 2. I remember the final against France at euro 2016. He got injured within the match and was still able to inspire the team to win from the sideline.

Above all, he's a family man and family for a man is whole lot of responsibility and leadership role. If you can manage a family as a man, you've got my respect already.

What action you took and how your life has improved because of it.

The main attribute Cristiano Ronaldo has aspired me to develop is the determination to be successful at all cost. Living an average life and being a mediocre is not an option for me. Whatever is worth doing is worth doing well and that's my opinion about life.

I've developed my self to not choose the easiest part and not shy away from challenges. No good way is an easy one. If all were to be easy, then everyone would have been successful and special.

I've also reorientated my mind that achievement in life is beyond pure talent. hard work and self discipline has a lot of role to play.

To me, I don't see Cristiano to be very talented unlike Messi but the level of focus and hard work he had put in himself has resulted in who he is today.

Cristiano was part of why I chose to study medicine then. They presented it as the hardest course to survive here in Nigeria but I know anything can be achieved through determination, discipline and hard work and I'm happy I made that choice then.

I've also learnt to be a productive leader who achieves set out goals and brings out the best of his/her followers at the same time. Leading people is the most difficult task on earth and this includes running a family. Its really interesting to have picked up leadership roles anytime I'm opportuned to. I don't shy away from it. I enjoy it and see it as an avenue for responsibility, sacrifice and self development

I'm not saying Cristiano Ronaldo has got no bad side but these positives are obvious and it pays to emulate them. Its better to see and emulate the good in people than focusing on their bad.

Thank you for reading.

I love everything about him...the fact that he's always all out to be better than his previous self keeps me in awe of him.

Same here. He amazingly plays like a super human. Getting better daily despite getting older.
