A Friday of African Makasa in Cova Santa, Ibiza, and more of the night in the island
Dear friends of Weekend Experiences, today I bring you a spectacular Friday night in Ibiza.
Although Ibiza has thousands of different parties for all tastes, I only went to a few because I don't like the night too much and because I didn't have the time with work.
However, the ones I did go to were spectacular.
One of them was MASAKA Africana, in Cova Santa, a nightclub in the middle of the mountain, which is open, full of colorful lights and nature.
MASAKA is a very particular party, since its music is dominated by drums and there are live DJ shows that pinchan this music, but at the same time there are musicians and dancers doing their performance live as well.
It caught my attention that they were selling marijuana to smoke, in theory without THC, very freely. Apparently this is something very common in Ibiza parties but of course, it's an unknown world for me.
The prices of these parties vary, but they are around €40 and in my case, I got in for free for being a worker, as happens in several of these parties. Either you get a workerpass or someone adds you to a list so you can enter without paying.
Cova Santa offers these parties until around 23:30, then you have to go somewhere else.
I arrived quite late and there I was with some friends, so I enjoyed only a part of this event. Then, as it was still early evening for us, we went with Romi, one of my friends, to the city center to see if we could find something else.
Well, there wasn't much and we were tired from work, but we decided to explore the port.
To our surprise, we came across “La Calle de la Virgen” a gay street, all decorated with the flags of the community and with different alternative bars.
It was quite interesting, because although we didn't stay in any of them, we entered many just to see what was going on there, and because we didn't know that part of Ibiza and it was a new experience, as there were roulette games, hidden bars where Latin music like bachata was being danced, and very good vibes in all the people that were around.
After walking around this area of Ibiza for a while, we continued walking and arrived at a bridge of the port where we took the opportunity to contemplate the beautiful city at night.
