Enjoy this amazing moment at this YOGA FESTIVAL in La Finquita 1920, Argentina
Hello dear friends of Hive, especially the WEEKEND EXPERIENCES community, this time I will be sharing with you some pictures of what was the YOGALIFESTYLE festival in Mendoza, Argentina.
It was held in La Finquita, a small winery in the department of Maipú, and it offered a very particular proposal for the world of Yoga, since yogis and yoginis are used to meditation, healthy food and non-alcoholic drinks, at least in Yoga meetings.
However, this time they would be offering a parade of Yoga clothes, a tasting of wines from that winery, music from a band called Puna that is between electronic and psychedelic (or something like that, I did not know them, I just met them there) and also they would offer vegan food and music from India.
What caught my attention the most about the event was the Indian music, since it was an Indian master who would be giving a concert with his disciple and another musician. The featured instrument of the recital would be the zither.
Although I asked people from my Yoga community to go with them, no one joined, because they belong to other communities and it seems that this one is simply different.
As I was very curious, I decided that I would go anyway, because I had been wanting to go to a Yoga festival in my city for a long time.
The ticket cost around USD 10, for spending some time there from 2 pm to 8:30 pm, and well, I really wanted to go, despite the fact that USD 10 right now in Argentina is a little bit expensive. Anyway I got a discount code, and it was USD 1,50 less.
Arriving at the event
I arrived and immediately placed my mat on the grass, in a shady spot, so I could enjoy nature. The surroundings were very beautiful and there was a nice energy in the participants, who were chatting in their groups, others were meditating and others were contemplating.
In the place there were artisans selling bracelets, necklaces, Yoga sculptures, and there was also a stand where you could buy clothes. On one side was the sector where they offered massages and tarot, very interesting and varied. I liked that a lot.
I stood there observing, until the host, Germain, began to welcome me. He is a type of yogi I had never seen before, as I observed that he embraced and honored his humanity, and from his individualism and materialism, he communicated with all of us who were there.
All the teachers I have seen, have to embrace this human being but always from the intention of letting go of this identity. Germain, although he mentioned this identity, acted differently.
I could not say that I liked or disliked his manner, but he caught my attention as a teacher. Although I would not choose him as a guide in Yoga, it is always good to know different methods and styles.
The concert
After telling us how the festival would be, this teacher gave us a very nice gentle Yoga class and then a raffle was held, while the musicians prepared their instruments.
The moment I was waiting for was about to arrive, and when it happened, I simply let myself flow in that exotic sound I listen to in my playlists, this time live, with wonderful instruments like the zither and some kind of small drums with a captivating sound.
I noticed that the master kept the rhythm faster with the zither and his disciple followed him marking a slower rhythm, like a beat. The drums intervened only at times, which gave life and more vibrancy to the music.
I was fascinated by that moment, which lasted about an hour. With that, I felt that the price of the ticket was worth it.
Tasting
When the concert ended, many went to buy vegan food and the tasting began, which was included in the ticket, while the band Puna started to play.
At that moment the event became a bit strange for a Yoga meeting, but I stayed there for a while longer.
Although the different varietals were available for tasting, I only decided to try the Malbec, as I didn't feel like drinking so much.
I stayed a moment longer enjoying the music and left a little before the parade started.
I think that in order to give an opinion, the most important thing is to know the different options we have. Now I can give my opinion about this part of the world of Yoga, and although I love that there is this diversity, at least for now, I like the traditional style that allows me to get out of the everyday and known.
At least in my case I have enjoyed many parties, tastings and so on, and Yoga is my entrance to the discovery of my inner world and the energetic world. With so many external stimuli I find it somewhat difficult to achieve this.
Still, I am left with the wonderful concert that was offered at the YOGALIFESTYLE event and the always positive "getting to know something new".
