SMALL HARBOR ON A GLOOMY DECEMBER DAY

in #hive-1688692 years ago

Good morning.

Yesterday I published a post (I published two, actually, but one of them is an accidental clone. An evil twin of sorts) about a pretty large, new marina in the city. A marina filled with luxury boats. Some with sails, others with a motor only.
Today, I'm back in the small, fishermen-oriented harbor of Liznjan, filled with fish traps and a nice variety of makeshift stuff.

This red building iconic for the area around Liznjan is a former food-processing factory. Now it hosts the local fishermen association and some small sports clubs. The coastal fields a bit further down the road still produce big quantities of vegetables, especially potatoes, tomatoes, and cabbages, but the factory isn't needed anymore.

This is the view from the large terrace in front of the former factory.

The weather wasn't particularly cold, but it was cloudy and the sky looked pretty dramatic. Here you can see one of the narrow inlets of a very indented bay that hosts the harbor.

I visit this place very often and use it in the posts probably ad nauseam, but what I can do? The small harbor inspires me and is always at hand, just a couple of kilometers from where I live.

I can always find a cool detail or two there. There is always something worth photographing. Like this collection of black plastic buckets that hold the nets and their colorful makeshift buoys.

(Enlargeable)

Or this sleepy fisherman ( A friend from Liznjan) that has some more stuff to do here in the harbor after the night at sea.

This is the view from the main dock where all the bigger fishing boats are moored.

The atmosphere in the harbor yesterday, when all these photographs were taken, was so dark that the streetlamp on the dock was still on at 9 AM.

Here you can see a lovely floating composition that, at some point, caught my attention. A boat with a blue top stuck between two completely white ones.

Here you can see a small fortified inlet at the base of the docking area and a group of very sheltered small boats in it.

This is a scene from another inlet. The one that already appeared in this post. You can see it in one of the wide shots that show more of the scenery. The third picture from the top, precisely.

Here you can take another look from the terrace of the red factory. One last look at the harbor before the post ends.

Just like it started, the post is about to end with the same factory that isn't a factory anymore. Hope you enjoyed visiting the bay of Liznjan again. I certainly did.

AS ALWAYS HERE ON HIVE, THE PHOTOGRAPHS ARE MY WORK.

THE END.

Sort:

It is seen that this place in its golden years had a lot of activity, it was a very popular port.

These types of places have many things every time you go you can appreciate something different, very good for taking pictures

A pier with beautiful scenery, sleepy fishermen, I know how tired it is to go to sea, and keep the spirit for your fishing friends

I love to see your photography. Weather and clouds looks very beautiful. This factory makes many things. Natural beauty always attracts the people's. Thanks for sharing.

I really enjoyed visiting the harbour or pier in my area, somehow there was a feeling of inner calm when watching the expanse of the sea and the ships float on it😊

Nice post - quite a different from the much larger port, so got some interesting things though !

Thank you 🙂 Glad you like the post.

The gloomy weather looks interesting, why do i always get vampire vibes here😸😸 anyway thanks for the tour around the beach😆

😃 Vampires are meteoropathic creatures and only this type of weather makes them feel good. That's why being a vampire is really a curse.

I wasn't prepared for the word meteoropathic that I googled it😹😹 i'll remember it, especially curse. It adds well to the story😸👍
