WEEK 214: Jurassic Museum of Asturias

in #hive-1688692 months ago

Hi,

Those of you who know me from Hive know that I'm always moving from one place to another in Spain working, but I have two places that I consider my home. On the one hand, the village where my mother lives is very small and there are no museums or art galleries and, on the other hand, the place where I have a small flat and where there are museums.

The closest and most important museum to my house is the MUJA (Jurassic Museum of Asturias) where the outside of the museum is the real attraction.

The main feature of this museum is that it is more interesting on the outside than on the inside. It presents a multitude of life-size sculptures of various dinosaurs and more than one gets a scare almost at the entrance of the enclosure when he sees a furious Tyrannosaurus rex coming out of the eucalyptus forest.

But of all the life-size sculptures I am most impressed by the large size of the Diplodocus. Its more than 60 metres in size makes it one of the largest sculptures in Asturias and makes us realise that the human being is really like an ant compared to the greatness of the beings that inhabited the earth millions of years ago.

Throughout the enclosure you can see sculptures of the main types of dinosaurs, many of them with names very complicated to pronounce and that thanks to many Jurassic Park films we have seen them in movement, knowing in some cases their bad temper and their violence, as is the case of the Deinonychus.

This museum is ideal to go with children, as I don't know why for some strange reason all children like dinosaurs, with many of them having the Triceraptos as their favourite, I suppose because it reminds them of a bull.

Although I like the Euoplecphalus the most because of its powerful tail and body covered with steel-hard spikes. I suppose my predilection is due to its resemblance to my spiked bracelet that I wear to rock-and-roll concerts.

And I certainly encourage you to visit the endearing Stegosaurius with its half-open mouth, which gives a lot of photographic play if we stand at a certain distance to have the most tender girl-dinosaur love scene.

Inside the building there is a shop area where you can buy some gifts related to the world of dinosaurs. On my last visit, I bought my cousin an experiment kit that included the construction of a model of a dinosaur skeleton.

Inside the museum there are several models of dinosaur skeletons and fossil remains and footprints. Similar to the ones outside the museum.

But due to the restriction to take pictures inside, I have no pictures to show you in this post.

Regards.

Woww since I was a child I have been fascinated by dinosaurs especially the so called long neck, the herbivore, I love its height and neck. What a great visit, a fabulous museum!!! 😃

It is a very beautiful place.

Nearby there are some beaches where you can see some dinosaur footprints.
