Firstly,I work as a junior doctor in a teaching hospital in Nigeria. So you could already guess I do most of the "doctor job" a medical doctor is supposed to do in the hospital and also most of the "non-doctor" job a medical doctor is not supposed to do.
So safe to say then, I almost always have a stressful day, except days that are just my wardrounds.
Most working days I get home by 4pmWAT,
I immediately go to shower and then hook up something to eat.
I unwind most days by taking a nap immediately after work
Why do I do this and is it beneficial to me?
So yeah,I do this bascially, because,as a junior doctor working in Nigeria, your not entitiled to an adequate amount of sleep for an adult. Is it beneficial,Hell yeah!,sleep is very important to the human body just like eating, drinking or breathing.Lack of it affects almost every tissue and organ in the body.
And in times when I don't fall asleep immediately,I watch a movie(I soo love watching scrubs series...it's really funny) or maybe I do something like a Meditation.
I really think its a good idea to reflect at the end of the day. Let go of the worries of the day. Take note of what occurred during the day,and try to improve on them.
This is an excellent moment to reflect on any achievements, big or little!
