My Journey to a Better Future

"Depression is a prison where you are both the suffering prisoner and the cruel jailer." - Dorothy Rowe

This picture is from 2013 with and it appears that I am affected by depression on my face.

I began to feel very sad and depressed in my mid-twenties. My life was slipping backwards, and I was depressed and frustrated. Nothing made me happy, and laughing and smiling didn't help.

I began looking for causes and cures, and after much research, I discovered that I was depressed. This word sounded like a diagnosis, but it actually gave me hope for a better future.

I went to the doctor and explained my feelings and symptoms to him, and he prescribed the appropriate treatment for my condition. The medication did help, but I realized there were other things I needed to concentrate on.

Positive aspects of my life can assist me in overcoming depression. I had nothing to worry about, so I had to keep a positive outlook on myself and my future.

I also read a lot about depression and the various approaches to dealing with it. The reading was extremely beneficial and provided me with a better understanding of my feelings and symptoms. I didn't need material or emotional support because I have two children who love me and give me the support and strength I need to overcome obstacles.

Now I'm feeling much better. I started doing my favorite things and smiling on a regular basis. But I couldn't stop taking the medication until now because it's the foundation of my treatment.

My recommendation to depressed people is to seek the proper medical care, which may involve medication and psychotherapy, such as psychological counseling and instruction in constructive thinking and coping mechanisms for dealing with daily situations. Patients can learn from my experience that there is hope for a better future and that it is possible to beat depression. Patients should also refrain from comparing their life to those of others and instead concentrate on their strengths and capabilities while working to enhance them.

congrats, im happy for your.

I really don't know if this helps or its the same, but I had too much anxienty long time ago and the only way I could control it is by keep me always busy as I can so literally since that i don't have time to think in negative things and anything compared to it.

You're right my friend, it really is part of the therapy to keep yourself busy as I can
