Mommy, today we are going for a walk, I don't know how many times my son asked this on Saturday morning, but he was anxious to get out of the house and walk for a while. Going for a walk as a family is an activity we enjoy on the weekends, clearing our minds, disconnecting a little bit from our routine, enjoying the air, is always an excellent plan, especially in this hot time of the year.
This Saturday the sun was inclement, we sincerely wanted to wait for it to go down a little, but it never did, and at the insistence of our little one, we went out for a little walk. The good thing, where we live, is that we have many roads to choose from, this time, we went for a complete tour, we walked for about two hours approximately.
My husband and my son, always take the lead, I always follow them and I like to take pictures of them, I find it adorable to see dad and son, holding hands, like guiding each of their steps and well, most of the time, he carries the child on his shoulders, because my little Angel, apparently gets tired too fast.
We passed by a small housing development and found several trees recently cut down, this one in particular filled me with feeling, because I liked it very much and parrots and parakeets always came to it, the neighbors always left some fruit and water in its branches and passing by and seeing that scenery was something I enjoyed. But well, I can understand why they cut it down, as it was very close to the residence and especially to the lighting wires. I hope the birds, which used to roost here, have found a better place.
We continued our tour, through some streets that lead to a farm, my son loves to pass by here because there is always some animal to see, turkeys, cows, sheep and much more, this time, we found these goats, they were eating peacefully. My son was watching them for a while, meanwhile, we were resting.
At the bottom of the mountain, a forest fire was starting, at this time of the year, they happen more and more frequently, this situation is worrying, because during the week I have seen a couple more fires, it is hard to think that it is something normal, for me it is not, I think that actions should be taken to prevent this and avoid that they spread too much. Sometimes, a simple piece of glass can wipe out the green of a mountain.
We continued walking, until we reached a small boulevard with a playground, here my son took advantage of the swing, at first he was a little scared, then he was carried away by the excitement of swinging from one side to the other. If you ask me, I would have loved to find one for myself too.
Before returning home, we stopped at a softball field, they were just finishing training, so we took the opportunity to take a couple of laps on the field. Then we resumed the road, but now, the challenge was more difficult, because all we had left was to climb and climb, the sun was still as relentless, but the view was inspiring.
Upon arriving at our development we let the child search for treasures in the dirt and get down and dirty. It's not every day you get this opportunity to connect with and enjoy nature. And so it was, our Saturday afternoon. Simple and perfect, everything I needed.
Until next time, a million blessings to your families.
