I've been writing every day this week, and I was looking for something to write on the weekend! What popped into my head? @galenkp's #WeekendExperience community! I headed to πhis postπ and found a ton of fun prompts!!! It was actually hard to pick just one, because they all seemed great! But here is the one I ran with! Hope you enjoy! (Why not join in for some fun this weekend??)π
My best physical feature:
From what I've been told, this would be my smile. When I've thought about it and analyzed why people think my smile is so nice, I think it's actually a comparison/contrast with the way my face normally looks. HAHAHAHA No - I dont' have a resting bitch face! LOL But, I do have a mouth that naturally turns down - so when I'm just looking "normal", it seems like I'm frowning. I have a really happy personality and smile easily, so when I have a reason - any reason - to smile, I think it's such a stark contrast to my natural frown - that it seems to be something that lights up!
So I'm not sure if my smile is that sunshiney? or... if it's just like flipping a sad to happy switch that surprises people so quickly!
I really don't know! But, I'll just say because most people have told me that my smile is the thing that stands out, I'll go with that as my best physical feature.
Now, you might think ok then - you've done the task, Dreem! Carry on, now! But....
I want to talk about my most controversial feature now, as a bonus! LOL
What makes it my most controversial feature?
Most people find this feature interesting, or even pretty.
I do not. I have never liked this feature. I think it's boring, below average, not special, and.. up until recently, I have gone so far as to say this feature was downright ugly.
In order to CHANGE this feature, I've actually CONSIDERED some pretty crazy options! There is a really cool laser technique called STROMA that will use a laser to permanently destroy the melanocytes to affect the color of this feature! I know I know... I've already heard how crazy I am for considering this... don't worry, I've had to promise I won't do this. LOL
Another option is to do an implant... that adds in a piece of flexible plastic under the lens to cover your iris. Yes, Yes. I've heard this is actually a dangerous procedure, so I don't even want this lol
But then, a very inexpensive alternative!!!! And one that I had a lot of fun trying these on to change this feature of mine!!!
BLACK-COLORED EYES
Yep, they are so dark, you can't even see the pupil. It is just like one giant black marble. I have heard lots of lovely things about them. That they look like sparkling candies. hehe That they're like galaxy eyes. That they're so deep you can get lost in them. That they're warm. But, to me, nope. I would love warm amber eyes. chocolate brown eyes. hazel. green. blue. grey - ANYTHING but these boring, dead, shark eyes. blech. LOLOLOL
I recently found an article that was talking about all the different kinds of eye color, and apparently my eyes are not called boring "black". They are actually called "mirrored" and are very rare. Ok.... ok maybe THAT sounded a little cool. Especially, when they talked about the fact THAT they were black allowed everything to be reflected so nicely like mirrors!
Alright... that DID sound a little cool! hehehe
But... I was still WANTING new eyes! hahaha. Let me just state this - for a 46 year old woman, I have amazing eyesight. My vision is 15/20. I haven't needed glasses (though I do wear blue-light glasses hehe) and perhaps because they are so dark, that has protected them from radiation from the sun and kept the vision intact? My gorgeous daughter with her icy green eyes struggles horribly with sunlight because of their lightness. She also needs to wear glasses, as well as my husband with his blue eyes, and my oldest son with his olive green eyes. So? Believe me, I am very pleased and proud of their function! But my vanity still begs for something prettier! hehehe so.... take a look at these options LOLOLOL
a bright grey
a solar grey
a deeper blue grey
a golden option (similar to the light grey)
They are fun to wear! and a lot less expensive than surgery or implants! hehehe And - they are impermanent and safe to play around with! Plus, one I'm finished having fun, my family can still see me the way they know me. (They told me they would really miss my eyes, so... I guess I'm stuck with them for a while. hehehe)
ENOUGH ABOUT YOUR EYE COLOR...
Now the rest of the prompt is not as fun as trying on colored contact lenses! hehe But it's just as informative about who I am! so let's share!!
I need to share two of my best personality traits and this? This is super easy! Both of them have to do with communication, and I think make me not only an effective communicator but a good friend and counselor for people!
- I love truly understanding people.
- I can sense emotions that are below the surface.
When I'm talking to someone, I look in their eyes. Maybe another gift of my "boring" eyes is their ability to SEE. I don't just see what people show me, but I see a lot more that's there. I use all that I see along with what I hear to truly try to understand the core of a person.
I think that a lot of people feel safe with me, and feel like they can share more with me than with others. I see this as a huge privilege, and treasure their hearts inside my own. People matter to me, and I always hope that is evident in the way that I speak and act.
I hope you had fun with me on this post! I'd love to hear which of the contact lenses you liked - if at all! hehehe And if you are like my family and prefer my dark eyes - that's ok too! hehehe
