Hello Hive Community!
My weekend was incredible, in contact with nature and eating a variety of food. Here in Brazil, the 23rd and 24th are St. John's holidays, where people celebrate the June festivities more intensely, in fact the whole month of June is for celebrating this festival.
My parents live in the countryside and it's been a long time since I went to their house, due to work and academic obligations. But I'm on vacation from both of them and the first thing I did was go to visit them.
I love the countryside, because being close to nature brings peace and renews my energy. To make things more radical, my wife and I went by motorcycle and took a dirt road for about 40 minutes to reach our destination.
My parents lived in the city, but after my father retired they built a house in the countryside to get away from the hustle and bustle of the city. Whenever possible I visit them, in fact part of my family lives here. It's a place where the air is lighter and so is life!
In fact, the people here are fond of celebrating the June festivities, with lots of food, drink and music. For those who live in the northeast of Brazil, this is the best time of year.
I'm someone who likes peace and quiet, so I chose to spend this holiday at my parents' house. The first thing we did when we got to the farm was go to the cornfield. We harvested some corn, which was enough to bake, cook and even make a cake.
When I walked through the cornfield I felt like I was in one of those horror movies where people go into the cornfield and can't get out because of some mysterious force. I love this style of movie
My father and I ended up in the cornfield and harvested about half a sack of corn, which we took home to eat in the evening. One thing I love very much is roasted corn, so the first thing I did when evening came was to start the fire for this purpose.
Around the campfire, chatting with my parents and my wife, we roasted some corn and also cooked, while in the distance we could hear the sound of people celebrating St. John, a saint of this date.
And that was my weekend experience with the people I love. In contact with nature and renewing my strength to return to the real world when the holiday is over. I hope you enjoyed my brief report!
