Since this post will be about self-improvement, to begin with, I decided to share a quote.
I am so thoroughly convinced that if we don’t set goals in our life and learn how to master the techniques of living to reach our goals, we can reach a ripe old age and look back on our life only to see that we reached but a small part of our full potential. When one learns to master the principles of setting a goal, he will then be able to make a great difference in the results he attains in this life
-President M. Russell Ballard
It is one of my favourites and of course, it is a reminder that there is a need for daily improvement today I would like to focus on three aspects of my life that needs changing or working on.
Eating out: As you all probably read from the news, food prices rocketed last year and it has stayed almost the same since then so buying food at a food joint or restaurant is not a very friendly idea. 20 cedis plus could be gone and you will not even be satisfied so rather than buy food 3x with water in a day adding up to around 70ghc. 70 multiplied by 30 is 2100ghc. If I step down on my budget by cooking at home, 800ghc will take me through the month which means 1300 could go into savings. That is a lot of money.
Cutting down Shopping expenses: I realized I buy a lot of things I do not need. I do not know why but sometimes I purchase it only to use it once or a couple of days and then lose interest in it. I figured I can get around in a simple but clean kick rather than having all these kicks and clothes that can not even fit in my closet. Besides I could even do myself well by donating some to friends and people who will need them the most. So the plan is to kill my addiction to shopping for the unnecessary and stick to my needs. I believe that self-fulfilment is not about having everything by your side but about being content with what is available.
Transportation: I can also cut down daily transportation costs by purchasing a motorbike instead of expensive public transport witness Accra. Besides a nice bike will help me avoid unnecessary traffic. Having asked around, 30 cedis fuel can last me 2 days or even 3 days of errands in town whereas public transport will cost extra within those days.
Peace✌️
