Valentine's Day is fast approaching and I had this dream of hosting a once-in-a-lifetime dinner party. And because I wanted it to be one that is going to be remembered, I invited people who I admire the most and I am ecstatic to receive their confirmations earlier today. Yay!
Yes, they did! It was like a wishful thinking on my part sending invitations to them but I tell you, dreams do come true so never ever feel your dreams are far-fetched because you will never know! Of course, you need to work on them and "not just dream and go eat a sandwich," as Jim Carey puts it.
Pretty soon, I will be enjoying their company over sumptuous dinner that will be prepared by none other than one of the country's well-decorated and renowned chef, Gene Gonzalez. He assured me that it will be a surprising menu for all of us. I imagine he must be hard at work now in preparation for the big night. And I am sure he won't disappoint.
And just to share a bit of information with you, the Queen's response had me shocked at first in disbelief, but then had me giggling all morning,
"I am elated to receive your invitation and rest assured that I will be on time. And oh, don't expect me to be arriving in style, I wouldn't want to be mobbed so I'll come in disguise."
The Queen didn't lose her sense of humor after all, haha. I am already imagining how it would be to have her in my house and to be have fun conversations with her. I have always been fascinated with her story. She was thrown into the throne at a young age of 25 and had since reigned for 70 years! I wonder how she felt back then and the challenges she had had on the early years. It would also be interesting to know when she will be passing the crown to her son, Charles, not that I have any business with it :)
But kidding aside, I adore her as the woman she is.
And guess what? I was having coffee at 10 am when I got a call from Galen confirming his presence on the dinner party. How cool is that! It made me dance happily as my mind played a rather witty and fun conversation with The Weekend Star. He amazes me every time he comes up with the weekly topics that are not only interesting but would stir the mind to different heights.
It would be awesome to get to know him in person and breathe the same air with him even just for a few hours. Perhaps, he would share some of his secrets in writing too :)

And yay! The party will be complete because Maya Angelou is coming too! I fall in love with her way of writing when I first read her auto-biographical novel "I Know Why the Caged Bird Sings" and I love most of her quotes too, particularly the one above because it just got me right in the heart. Maya's story of how she rose from all of her life challenges and had become an inspiration to many impressed me too. And her way of writing got me hoping that one day, I'd be able to write phenomenally :)
But back to the dinner, I must tell you that I am really excited and I'm sure it's going to be one to remember! And oh, gracious! That reminded me I have to call my stylist friend of what should I be wearing for that night!
This is my entry to option 2 of this week's engagement topics #87 by @galenkp. If you have not done yours, I invite you to get to your groves and create yours too, it would be fun!
Thank you and Happy Weekend, everybody!
