Happy weekend, Hiveans from all parts of the world. It's a great day from this side, and I hope yours is too.
This week's WE221 Topics are interesting. So, I am here responding to one of the topics, particularly the topic related to work.
Draw/paint yourself at work doing your job. (Shit drawings are acceptable, you don't have to be an artist, it just has to be your work.) Also, explain the drawing/painting. Use a photo of your drawing or painting as your post image.
My readers, for sure, know that I am, rather was, an OFW in Hong Kong. My contract ended last June. So, my consistent readers definitely know that I am now unemployed. But being one isn't my forte. I am a person who loves being productive. As much as possible, I want to do things even when I am unemployed. There are a lot of opportunities in the virtual world that would allow you to work comfortably anywhere and anytime you want to. It has been my work recently. From being an OFW, working six times a week, and traveling on weekends, my daily life now revolved around the four corners of my room as a part-time freelancer.
This photo of me while working at my temporary workspace in my room was shared in the post below. If you are interested in reading it, feel free to click the link.
Working At The Comfort Of My Home, Happy or Not?
My entry for today was inspired by this photo, so, I opted to draw it.
I started sketching using my pencil and coloring it with my colored pencils afterward. The result is rather simple. I'm not a pro, I must admit it, lol.
The one in the photo is the typical scene inside my room since the beginning of this month working as a freelancer. I always find myself focusing within the four corners of my screen, navigating platforms where I need to work, hearing my keyboard clacking and computer mouse clicking, and finding time to visit Hive from time to time.
Although I don't like this job as much as I like my recent job, because I want something else outside my home where I could travel and do adventures outdoors on weekends like I used to do in Hong Kong, I'm finding ways to appreciate and enjoy this job temporarily. To enjoy this mundane job, I listen to inspiring soft music while working.
Oftentimes, I would take a break and look outside my window, where I could see nature's finest. I often do this to give my eyes some break, as it can be straining when I focus all the time on my screen. While doing so, I could hear our roosters crowing, dogs barking from a distance, vehicles passing by the highway, and my cat caressing my feet as if wanting my attention. For a moment, I am reconnecting to the outside world with these simple sounds and sights of everyday life in the countryside.
Occasionally, I would go out and connect with nature to find tranquility. Sometimes, hearing noises inside the house can be distracting, especially when everyone is gathered, boys are playing ML, and the TV is on. So, I would go out and immerse myself in nature for a moment.
Sometimes, when my phone was with me, I would capture pretty little creatures around, like our baby ducks swimming in the pond next to our house. They are very cute and inspired me to draw them. Doing such things is simple yet relaxing. I'm not only reconnecting with nature, but also finding joy in the present moment.
By doing these things, I can finally feel the presence of being in the countryside. I must admit that the best part of working as a freelancer is having more time to play with my little niece, and help mom with cooking, or should I say, taste her cooked food because I am more like that, lol. Above all, I can spend more quality time with my family and join them on important occasions.
That's how I find happiness while doing such a mundane job in the virtual world. Additionally, I can find art at work.
Thanks for your time.
