Happy weekend, dear hivers! It's been a while since my last blog post. I hope everyone is doing well. Work lately has been pretty hectic and i must admit that im definitely burned out. I learned that part of fixing the problem is first acknowledging it. So here I am, at Taoist temple, lamenting all my feelings.

I've blogged about this place last year (see: Taoist temple blog), my safe haven whenever i need time off from all the chaos around me. But the only difference in my recent visit is I went here with someone.

It was around Ghost month when we visited the temple so the staffs are busy burning Joss Paper, or spirit money, for the ghosts. Temple masters burn these paper money daily after their prayer ritual as Taoists believe that this paper money, when burned, will be sent to heaven and reached the hungry ghosts.

This ritual isn't new to me because my family personally practice this during the death of my grand parents. We also had these paper money, fold in a certain way, and burned them everyday for 40 days.

I did my usual temple rituals, prayed, and found my solitude back. Boundaries- before I left, it came to mind that perhaps the reason why i feel so distressed is because I no longer had personal space or me time lately. All I do is work and say yes to all the tasks as if im wonder woman. Maybe i need to learn how to practice work life balance. So from now on, Im no longer entertaining anything work related after work hours. I also uninstalled work apps in my personal phone so i wouldn't get notified during my me time.

And lastly, I learned not to take things personally. Work is just work. At the end of the day, I have a life to live and dreams to chase. Might as well focus on the big things.

I went home feeling refreshed and enlightened, ready to start my life a new. I hope you all had a recharging weekend as well, my dear hivers!

Sending some love and light

Love, Jane

welcome! :)

Having a work-life balance and personal space is a must. It's necessary for us not get overwhelmed by work and life at the same time. Anyway, the temple is serene. Is it open for visitors?

Yes, non-taoist believers are welcome to visit here. There were a lot of tourists visiting the place too.
