Making others happy will makes you more happy.

Birthdays in the Philippines is commonly celebrated with a lot of foods together with family, friends and relatives. It is a celebration that will bring the family together but last Sunday, I witness a heart warming activity where the birthday celebrant makes other kids happy on her birthday.

Last Saturday evening, a neighbor, a girl told us that my son's name was listed along with other kids aging 5-7 who will attend a birthday celebration in our community plaza. She said that the celebrant wants to celebrate her birthday with other kids.

I can't understand about the event as the girl only mentioned about the listing and no other details. She never mentioned the time and what the program will be.

I decided not to let my son attend thinking about the food, that they might serve food that we are not eating.

Early morning of Sunday, I told my son that we won't attend the said party but instead we will go to his aunt shop but while we are preparing to leave, an officer of our Purok came looking for the kids listed a day ago. He instructed us to go to the plaza as soon as possible. I just nodded but still we decided not to go.

After few minutes, our church mate came looking for my son to go to the plaza. Two persons reminded us to go to the plaza, so I told my son that we will go there to check what is happening there.

AT THE PLAZA

When we reached there, we saw a lot of kids falling in line facing to the vehicle. I let my son fall in line too as instructed.

A woman is calling names to receive a gift from the celebrant. Wow! What a great act of kindness. The celebrant is giving gifts to other kids, not just to make them happy but also to make herself happy.

A few minutes later, my son's name was called and he is so happy going in front. He was grateful for the gift he received.

Other kids who were in the line wasn't called because they are not in the list. They were younger or older on those listed kids. Others are kids who found this gathering and we're curious about it and went closer.

They felt sad but the woman told them to stay for a while and they will see if what they can give to them.

After calling all the listed names there are still some gifts because many is not around. So, they decided to give it to the kids who were there and many kids were happy.

They received pair of slippers, toys and an envelop with paper, pencil, crayons, sharpener and other school supplies.

They are requested to go up on stage for a picture taking and then they distributed food to the kids. They gave Jollibee burger and juice.

All little kids, listed and not listed who were there received burger and juice. I can see their happiness and kids really appreciate it.

We are so grateful for them and greeted the birthday celebrant.

It was a great #weekendexperiences for my son and the rest of the kids. It also made me realize that simple act of kindness will really make people happy. We, parents also became as happy as our kids who became recipient for that gift and food giving.

Celebrating children's birthday with the kids they din't know and giving them some gift makes the celebrant more happy and it teaches them to be generous and kind to other kids. It also taught them to share blessings to others.

Have you tried celebrating your birthday with the people you don't know? Have you tried giving gifts on your birthday and making other people happy instead of expecting gifts from them? Have you been a blessing to others on your birthday? For sure it brings more joy.

Thank you so much for reading.

Thank you so much @poshthreads.

This is really nice I love the idea behind it and oh wow it is really nice to learn about other cultures here. I don't have a child and no I did not have my b.day celebrated this way. But we need to implement this to our country as well 👏👏👏 thanks for sharing 🙏

This is not common thing to do during birthdays here and I really appreciate this kind of effort.

If you will have kids someday you can instill to them the spirit of being kind and generous to others. You can also be a blessing to others on your birthday.

Not common but still someone thought about this and it makes it so special i love it. I'm living in a big city and possible if anyone ever do anything like this, people would abuse. For sure. 😓

I'm still young for kids but thank you for the good wishes 🙏

Hehehe sorry I don't have any idea on your age.

If you do this chose a small community that people needs help or to be shared with blessings. In this activity they have just chosen 30 kids that's ages 5-7.

That was a lovely day 🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰, I can see smiles on the faces of the kids and Joy that they express in love to each other, what a great day of celebration 🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉.

It was indeed a great day not just for the celebrant but for all the kids there as well.

Oh yes 😊😊😊

Nakakataba ng puso ang ganyann kung sino may birthday, sya pa may pagift sa iba ☺️.

It is indeed unusual because in our human nature we expects gifts during our birthday but this one, they are the one who give gifts to other kids.

Thanks for reading my post @babyl.

All the kids did look very happy sis! I hope everyone said thank you as they received their gifts.

Kids are grateful too even in simple things. For sure they said thank you and others maybe don't because they were shy but in their hearts they are sure grateful.

In my city, people often do something like that, similar with charity but did it when the birthday come

I am not ask people to come to my area, I was go to random place and gave people something 😊

So happy if we can share with others ❤️

Yes we don't know those people, they really visit our community for that activity.

This is a good idea too. Keep it up and continue to be a channel of blessings to others.

Wow apaka generous nmn ng celebrant at namigay pa sa mga bta na di nya kilala. May gnyan tlgang tao sis pero di pa ako nka experience ng gnyan pati sa mga anak ko.

Ou nga sis Ang kind and generous nila. Medyo may kaya din Sila sis but it really takes a generous heart to do that kind of activity.

It was really a blessing to make others happy.

Yes sharing is caring.
