Weekend has come again and a lot of things happened on my end today. I woke up early for there are many things to do such as doing the laundry, cooking, washing the dishes and sweeping all the leaves in our surrounding.
Laundry
When we talk about doing the laundry some people will stick to the notion that it's just for girls to do it but for me it's for both and it depends who can do it with their time. That applies for married life but if not then you should do the laundry yourself and not depends on somebody.
I do the laundry here during saturday. It's been my duty since my grandmother was hospitalized due to over fatigue when I was still studying. Performing such as this task often tires her very fast. I don't want her to spend weeks in the hospital again because it's too hard for me to watch her lying there while they inject some medecines.
Washing the dishes.
When it comes to household chores I'm the number one attendee to do it, for example washing the dishes. My parents and grandparents taught me how to do it and since then I do it when I can even when I'm still studying. I washed a lot of plates today since my aunties and uncles are here. They said that they will use the ramaining time before my cousins will have face to face classes.
When I do this one I always asks my cousins to help because I want them to learn it so in tge future they can do it by theirselves and not rely anymore to someone such as their parents.
Sweeping
I did the sweeping again today since there's a pile of dried leaves scattered in our surrounding. There's a lot of trees here especially bamboo so I do it almost everyday or every other day. It's a good exercise for my arms but it's also tiring when there's too much to sweep.
Even if our house is just made of bamboo, still it will look good when the surrounding is free from trash. After sweeping I pulled some weed beside our plants residing near the rice field. They were tall again and it's dangerous when they grow that much because a snake may hide in it. That's why it's better to take them out while they are still small.
Cooking
This one is also my part during the weekends. Saturday and sunday I'm incharge of cooking our meals through out the day. I know how to cook a lot of dishes especially when it comes to Ilocano delicacies such as diningdeng and pakbet. They are much alike but different in taste.
I was taught at a young age on how to do it and sometimes with the help of youtube and facebook, I watch some videos related to cooking to improve my skills further more. With this one I'm ready to be in a relationship and in married life haha. Because it's not good when a man don't know how to cook for his wife. A wife cannot do it always especially when she's having a monthly period.
Harvesting string beans.
Before the evening comes this day my uncle asked me if I'm free to go with him his garden to harvest some of his plant. I'm expecting it to be not much but I was surprise when we arrived. He planted more than a hundred of it and the first fruits are the one we harvested.
I was really happy to see the string beans hanging on their poles waiting to be pick up. After dinner we compiled it per bundle and it is to be sold tomorrow early in the morning. We were discussing how much per bundle and I suggested that it would 30 pesos or $0.60 since we are here in the province. But tomorrow will be the final price because later on I will search what is the price of this product here in our town now.
It's really great when you plant something, in the end you can harvest some for your daily consumption and if you're lucky you can sell some and make profit out of it.
This is how my saturday will end and I'm very glad to extend my help again.
