Appreciating my natural body against cosmetic surgery

I was a victim of low self-esteem for a long time, probably since I was in elementary school. The mirror was a constant reminder that I was not good enough, and friends and family were always around to intimidate me further, mostly unconsciously. Maybe that's the issue with low self-esteem; the problem is mostly with the victim and not the people around.

Gradually, the dislike I had for taking pictures began to decline, somewhat because I had to face challenges in life that made me unperturbed about outcomes. And perhaps with maturity, diverting my interest in other things life had to offer made me have fewer concerns about my face and the desire to keep me hidden from the public or images.

As I mature, I have understood that everyone has a fear or a thing that we may not be too proud of, and it's okay to feel insecure, not to embrace such feelings. Our first impression after dressing is our skin. And the most accentuated part of every skin remains our faces.

NEED FOR COSMETIC SURGERY

Beyond the facial requirements for cosmetic surgery, which are often a result of personal conviction or choice, there are occasions such as burns or injuries that could require a skin graft. Personally, such medical needs should be honored, as it is important to improve social living for the individual.

However, we have some individuals that desire a reconfiguration of body parts such as the hips, breasts, or even the face. Most cosmetic surgeries often require repeat sessions, and beyond the huge financial implications, the risk of such surgery should be considered.

Fat redistribution remains another reason for cosmetic surgeries, as some individuals may be unusually overweight or obese and may require cosmetic surgery. But, for cosmetic surgery as a result of insecurity or body enhancements, I'd rather decline and focus that energy on improving and increasing my worth to myself and to society. Everyone loves the wealthy and achievers, even when the face or physique is not so appealing.

Thus, if the need for cosmetic surgery is to enhance body parts or redistribute them, I'll decline and stick with my natural self.
