A Double Blessing Weekend!

Last week, a children’s day celebration in my church lasted from Tuesday till Sunday. During the weekend, the grand finale, the kids did several exhibitions; the activities WOWed the whole congregation (both the parents and visitors who visited). One of the eye-catching scenes of the event was the praise session led by the children's choir. The session was electrifying, as we could see the kids jumping in excitement, dancing to the melody of the song, and singing along with the choir. I was excited to join them in the dance session, I felt like a child again. Whatever they were doing, I decided to join them in doing it; even when I felt exhausted, their smile, joy, and cheerful look gave me the strength to continue the galore.

Beyond the praise session, the children amused us with different varieties like singing, bible recitation, etc. I was glad the church allowed them to preach the sermon that fateful day. On Sunday, the children's pastor taught us on the topic: “We are God’s Vessel.” The parents were enlightened on the role they should play in making the children God gave them to be a vessel of honor and not dishonor. My cousin, who came to spend the weekend with us, was glad she came at the right time to hear such an edifying message, even the fun she had with kids will not be forgotten in a hurry.

When the children’s day service was over, we were entertained (both parents and children) with food and drinks. This unforgettable experience made me enjoy my weekend and I wish to have such every Sunday. So, what next? When I finally got home, I received the news that one of my mother’s friend's daughters had put to birth. Truly, the weekend was for the kids! Having such a double joy during the weekend made me happier; in fact, the previous Sunday was the first day of the month (September). There was a lot to thank God for. Hopefully, within the week, my parents will visit the family to see the bouncing baby girl.

Conclusion:

So, my #hive friends, this was how my last weekend went. The children truly proved to me they were God’s vessel, and I pray they don’t stray away in the future. In the end, just as I said earlier, it was a time of double blessings and abundant reasons to give thanks.
