It's been nearly 10 years since I left highschool or as we like to call it in my country's secondary school. I remember writing my three final exams; The West African Examination Council exams (WAEC), The National Examination Council exams (NECO) and the Joint Admission Matriculation Board Exams (JAMB). These exams were going to determine what I would study in the higher institution and for WEAC and NECO I was required to have at least a credit in English, Maths and four other subjects. While JAMB gave a cut off mark of 180 in the four chosen subjects the student would take. For each of these exams I ensured that I registered geography as a subject because of how sure I was on the subject.
I never had to read for that particular subject and I ended up with the least a B3 in my NECO exams… for WAEC, I got an A, and for JAMB I scored 97/100. Although I did not end up in the sciences as I hoped because life happened, when I found myself in computer engineering despite failing physics in WAEC and getting a credit C4 in NECO, it was hard adjusting. I needed a new hubby and that was how I ventured into Digital marketing. Have been a digital marketer since my first year in the higher institution, and it hasn't been a very easy journey, especially struggling to get resources. When I started, it wasn't easy getting resources the way it is easy today, and I must admit I wasn't as exposed as I am today.
Digital marketing for me has become my own fortress of solitude. I have taught classes on it both online and offline and when I teach these classes I do not use a lecture guide, I simply teach 8 years of experience in the world of digital marketing and advertising. I would admit there are things I still don't know, but I've found my strength in social media marketing and Google ads. I'm Also good with email marketing but I do not specialize in it. As of today I have closed over 20 contracts that required my knowledge on the subject of social media marketing, and Google ads within 1 year and it's not because I'm the best at it, but because I've had years of experience that has distinguished me over time. I'm still learning but I can defend my knowledge anywhere in the world.
