One of my main goals for this year is to invest more in myself, and one of the key aspects of that is focusing on scents and perfumes. To be honest, I’m not someone who neglects smelling good, but at the same time, I’m also not one to splurge excessively on perfumes. However, I’ve come to realise that the right scent can genuinely boost my confidence when I’m around people. So, investing in quality perfumes has become one of my priority for me this year.
That said, there are still a few affordable, budget-friendly options I love, which make me feel good without breaking the bank. I tend to have more than two types of scents at a time—usually, at least two that I use when I am outside and a bunch of more affordable ones for when I’m at home or heading to bed.
One scent that I enjoy is ‘Confetti’. I actually discovered it through one of my roommates, and I’ve come to love it for its floral and feminine fragrance, which I find quite pleasing. Unfortunately, I’ve been out of it for about a month now because I haven’t been able to find it around me.
Currently, I’m using the Riggs London can perfumes—Icon and Voyage. Out of the two, my favourite right now is Voyage. I feel like it gives off a more feminine vibe compared to Icon. I use them mainly when I am going to class or hanging out with friends. Both of them are perfect for those everyday moments when I want to feel fresh.
Another scent I like is Brut deodorant. It’s something I always use before applying my body spray, and I’ve found that it complements my other scents really well, making the entire experience feel balanced and pleasant.
When I think about scents on others, one of my favourite is Octave Man by Alonzo, which my brother wears. It has a rich Oud and leather fragrance that just suits him so well. Sometimes, he layers it with his other perfumes to enhance the scent even further, and it always comes out great.
I’m still on my journey to exploring more perfumes and investing in scents that make me feel confident and good about myself. For now, these are the ones that stand out as my favourites.
