In everyday life, we tend to take many things for granted without even thinking about them. These can range from simple things like electricity or running water to more complex things like health or freedom.

In particular, I take three things for granted:

1.- Security.

One of the things we tend to take for granted is the feeling of security in our environment. Living in a country where we are not constantly exposed to situations of danger or violence makes us feel safe in our daily lives. However, this has not always been the case. Still, we are experiencing armed conflicts or political instability which affects the security of all citizens.

There are figures such as Mahatma Gandhi, Nelson Mandela and Martin Luther King Jr. who have fought for peace and justice in their respective countries, contributing to the creation of safer and more equitable societies. Their courage and dedication have inspired many people to follow in their footsteps and work for a more peaceful world. Despite advances in security, there are still challenges in many parts of the world, such as terrorism, organized crime and armed conflict.

It is important to cooperate with the authorities, respect laws and promote values such as tolerance and respect for others. Only in this way can we ensure a safe and peaceful environment for ourselves and future generations.

2.- Health.

Another thing we often take for granted is our health. In a world where modern medicine has made amazing advances in treating illness and injury, it is easy to forget how fragile our well-being can be. However, the COVID-19 pandemic has highlighted the importance of taking care of our health and the health of those around us.

Despite advances in medicine, there are still challenges in public health, such as unequal access to medical care, antibiotic resistance, and lifestyle-related chronic diseases. It is essential to value and care for our health, adopting healthy habits and attending regular medical check-ups to prevent disease and promote wellness.

3.- Freedom.

Freedom is another thing we often take for granted in our daily lives. Living in a country where we can express our opinions freely, elect our political representatives and practice our religion without fear of reprisals is a privilege that not all individuals in the world have. However, history has taught us that freedom is a fundamental right that we must defend and preserve.

Despite advances in human rights, challenges remain in many parts of the world, including censorship, political persecution and gender discrimination. It is essential to work together to defend it and promote freedom in all its forms. Only in this way can we build a more just, inclusive and respectful society.

Safety, health and freedom are three things that we often take for granted in our daily lives; they are fundamental pillars in our society that we must value and protect. We must adopt responsible habits, respect the rights of others and promote values such as justice, solidarity and tolerance. Only in this way can we build a safer, healthier and freer world for all.

We must appreciate what we have, take care of ourselves and others, and work together to build a better future. In doing so, we will be contributing to building a more equitable, inclusive and sustainable society for future generations.

This is my participation this weekend in the initiative proposed by @galenkp called Weekend-Engagement topics in his week 212. Link Here.

In this opportunity I develop the following topic:

What three things do you take for granted and why? - Use your own photos.

Happy weekend to all, thank you for the opportunity to present this publication to the community. Best regards to all.

All images are my property and were taken with my Umidigi F2 cell phone. I made two collages, the first one with the four initial images, and the second one with the last two images, using the graphic design program Canva.
