20th DECEMBER 2024

It all happened on the 20th of December, my school went on an indefinite strike because the government refused to increase their salary, and also there were arrears of salaries from months back, they have pleaded and sent representatives on this same issue to the government but nothing was done about it and do they swung into action and went on strike, the strike according to them is indefinite until they see the government in action and not just mere words. This whole strike issue started on the 10th of December, there was great joy everywhere due to the news of the strike and I got that news with mixed feelings, I was happy and at the same time sad, happy because no more classes and sad because I was supposed to graduate by February but with this strike, it's no longer possible.

I woke up on Saturday, the 21st of December, to the sad news that my house in school was on fire. The fire was so serious that it damaged almost every single thing in that building, which was a two-story building. Immediately I got the news I screamed as if someone had died because the fire I saw in that video was no ordinary fire. My joy till this day was that no life was lost just properties, come to think of it had it been I was in that house and the fire broke out only God knows what would have happened because my room is the last in the block, the school wasn't in session.

It was later we got to know that the fire started in the radio station on the top floor close to my room. When it got to the time to clear off damaged properties, I got to know that it was only my room that was untouched. Every other person's properties were burnt. Till today the 10th day of January I'm still following due process to clear off my things from that building because an investigation is going on ( can't I just go in and pack my things?) now I'm to wait till school resumes today was so stressful but let's wait and see what happens when they call off the strike.
