After a week of absence, I couldn't miss this, so here I am, ready for the WEEKEND EXPERIENCE day!
Yes, I just coined the name of the event, and I like it.
First of all, I want to thank @galenkp for his dedication and, above all, for his friendship. I know it may seem strange to think of someone you've never seen and who is miles away as a friend, but sometimes it happens. You just have to find the right person on the other side, and then it can happen.
Well, Galen, in my opinion and intuition, you're a really good person, so simply, thank you!
Now, let's get to the point. This post will be more "visual" than verbal. As you may have guessed, I decided to talk and, above all, show some of my tattoos. They're not all of them; the real reason is that I can't reach some spots to take photos, lol! I can still use the missing tattoos for a future post, eh eh!
Keep in mind that for the birth of Samuele, I plan to get three tattoos. They will all be literary, and I will tattoo the initial of my wife's name under my wedding ring. I already have the design ready. On my left arm, to be precise, I will tattoo Samuele's name on the entire forearm, while on the right forearm, I will tattoo another name.
I also have to get a large tattoo on my back for which I have had the design ready for years, as well as one on my abdomen that I will do after losing some more weight.
But let's not digress and move on to the tattoos I want to show you.
I guess you can tell I'm passionate about tattoos, right?
First of all, every image I imprint on my skin has significant meaning to me. It's a memory that I carry indelibly in my heart and also on my body.
The first tattoo I'm showing you is also the first one I got. I had it done at the end of a particular year of my life, and whenever I look at it, it reminds me of places, people, and experiences that were important to me. As you can see, it's a tribal design, and its special feature is that I had it done freehand by the tattoo artist. She drew whatever her inspiration dictated at the moment.
On my right arm, I also have the symbol of a movement to which I've belonged forever and always: Special Olympics. I've been a swimming and athletics instructor in an association affiliated with Special Olympics. My fantastic athletes, who are also like fraternal friends to me, have taught me how to live.
I conclude the right side with the tattoo of my avatar, which I often use as a logo, despite creating a slightly more professional one that I might also tattoo in the future. What can I say about this tattoo? It has my favorite hand, QQ (along with Ace of Spades), and it embodies one of the dreams I have yet to fulfill: going to Las Vegas to play in a WSOP event.
Also on the right side, on my ribs, I have this angel with open wings and two names underneath. They are the names of my cousin and a friend who are no longer with us. I consider them two of my guardian angels, two guiding spirits. I'm an atheist, and I don't believe in anything supernatural unless we're talking about aliens. However, deep down in my heart, I always hope that the essence of my ancestors and those who are no longer with us somehow guides me.
On my left arm, you can see this tattoo written in Japanese. They are the names of my father, mother, and brother, respectively: Bruno, Antonietta, and Angelo. Family is incredibly important to me, and it's needless to say the significance these ideograms hold for me.
Lastly, still on the left side, I have this Kokopelli tattoo in a slightly tribal style, with the names of my grandchildren around it. When I got the tattoo, I wrote the first two names, Aurora and Cristian, but then Aurora was born, and naturally, I added hers too. I love my grandchildren, and I would give my life for them. I wish them the best, which is why I chose Kokopelli, a symbol of happiness.
Well, for today, I really think I can conclude. Thank you for sticking with me so far, and I hope you like my tattoos. Do you have any tattoos yourself? Even if you don't, do you like them? Let me know your responses and thoughts in the comments below, if you'd like, of course.
Hug You!
