Hello Hivers around the world, I want to share my weekend experience with you. I even feel like throwing up!
I don't live with my parents, but I rented an apartment in another Locality because of the distance from their house to my work place and also for the fact that they won't just let me be.
On Saturday, my mum turned my entire weekend which I had planned a long time ago upside down. Who does that? After a very hectic day at work on Friday, a friend offered to take me out for the evening just to cool off my stress and boom! my phone rings, I picked up and Mum says I should come home for farming as it is the season of planting.
I told her I needed to wash my clothes on Saturday and I wouldn't love to wake up early on Saturday because it is not a working day for me. Good for me that I only work from Monday to Friday. Saturday and Sunday are my free days I make use of in doing some house chores like cleaning, laundry, trying out meals and taking a long nap for the week.
Mum doesn't even understand I have my own plan for myself, she just feels because she birthed me, she could just wake up one morning and impose things on me. I'm still trying to understand though.
Finally I'm home and still wondering why we are still on our way to the farm. oh my gawd! coming across tiny hills and valley track🙄 the sight was looking somehow beautiful to me, but scary on a second thought.
I still wonder why my mum would purchase a farm land so far away from the Villa with such a rickety track to the farm and she insisted that we go on foot. I am tired and can't help but remain an obedient child. Furthermore, mum just received a call from her sister saying that my cousins have just arrived at our home all the way from Abuja where they reside, and that they were all outside due to the fact that our gate was locked. Out of excitement, mum cancelled the farming after we were a stone throw away from the farmland and shifted farming for Sunday evening 😭.
On our way back, my elder sis suggested we take a cab after leaving the forest, but mum insisted we go on foot and that it was a part of body exercise and then she began lamenting that we children of "these days" have forgotten to use our feet even to very short distances. In my mind, I was pondering on who would wash those children's clothes for this few days they came to stay and who will do all the chores for plenty people and run errands in that big house. I don't want to feel like a new slave or babysit anybody, because back here at home, anytime there are new visitors, the home sweet home turns into a lodge and we the children become the servants as both mum, dad and whosoever that cares, including my bossy Aunt, will be tossing you about like a coin. I was still pondering until I suddenly realize we had gotten home.
The girls turned out to be fun though and were so playful. We even took shots together. I think I have an idea, Mum wouldn't want the girls to visit the farm, so she would actually need someone to babysit them at home. I hate babysitting, but this is my opportunity to stay away from the farm, I pray luck shines on me 😁
