Feeling insecure makes you anxious about almost everything; where you are, your surroundings, who comes in or goes out, the next person sitting next to you and the reactions of people around you. Feeling insecure reduces your freedom of speech. You wont feel free talking to you boss or elders as you are not comfortable with or in the environment.
I want to thank @galenkp for this amazing topic thus week. I will start by stating two things that makes me Feel Insecure
- Public transportation
- Work place
Almost everywhere we find ourself we are at risk. At risk of getting abused or getting hurt by others. Transporting publicly or using the public transport system has proven to be very helpful nowadays from old times. Moreover, we do not know who we would find there or who we are sitting next to, and this triggers insecurity.
Many experiences has been shared by victims who got robbed by a fellow passenger while on a journey and some even killed during operation. Pregnant women has lost their baby through these actions like struggling, fighting or even an acident right in the bus or train.
I feel insecure, and I hope you understand why. I try to avoid these by sitting quietly, minding my business, not engaging in arguements and eliting when trouble arises.
I felt insecure at my workplace. I am a mobile phone engineer (or technician). This type of work you would agree with me needs a quiet and peaceful environment to operate.
I was partnered with a couple who sales phone accessories. At first it was moving okay. They respected my time and schedule but eventually, they started looking into what I do, where I go, how many customers I get and also my timing. I got sick of the questions. It became as if I was working for them meanwhile I paid to stay.
I cant say they are bad, but it became boring and it made me lose my spirit. I felt insecure because they knew about everything I was doing which is not safe.
There is this guy at another center who was very cool. Even if you disturb him he doesn't talk back or ask for anything. I use his stuff and he does same. He avoids problem as much as he could and I do same. I'm more free with him and express myself better.
