A lot of the topics for the weekend engagement seem to always catch my attention. Today I decided to write about an interesting topic. But then the one that caught my attention was the telling the future question. I don’t know why but after seeing the topic I could only remember a movie I watched when I was quite young.
The movie was a Nigerian movie. In that movie a man had the ability to see how and when someone will die. The thing is he was a drunk and the only way he will know someone’s time is up is by seeing a red hat on your head. For the first few days, he thought it was just an illusion but then he started to realize his visions were coming true.
He decided to make money out of this. The villagers believed in his ability cause he could actually see when someone will die. The villagers paid him for consultation and he made a lot of money from it. Then something happened, with his power he didn’t have to lie. He needed to say the truth at all times but you know how things are. One day the chief summoned him and asked if he would be the next to die. He did see the hat on the chief's head but then he was afraid to say it.
He had to say no cause he was scared of saying the chief of the town is about to die.
I thought of this movie and I instantly had a reply to this🙂. I wouldn’t like to have such a power. It’s hard to see people die and now you have to know when they will die too. it’s going to be very difficult for me to tell anyone that he or she is going to die on this date or he is going to die this way.
I know people will like to know their futures and when they will die. But won’t it be for the best if you didn’t know when you will expire? If you knew you will be dying in like 3 months will you still work for all that you have been working for?
For me having that kind of power will eventually make your life a leaving hell lol. Apart from the fact you have to bare knowing how and when people will die, you’d also be given the responsibility of telling it to people. Looking at their sorrowful faces will be hell.
Having that power will eventually sway me towards wanting to make money from it. Am not saying I will charge people to tell them but it might end up swaying me towards asking for money to tell people about their future. Like what the fortune tellers do in their work. They take money from you before they tell you what your future will be like.
So in short, having this power will do me no good and as such I won’t like to have it. I know some people will like to have it cause at first thought it will be a cool thing to have but I’ll choose being able to have Flash’s power then seeing how and when someone will die lol.
