Hi guys, I’m here to share the experience I got from my trip yesterday with you.
So, staffs of universities in Nigeria has finally called off their strike, which is something everybody have been hoping for and this simply means back to school.
My dad was going to drop us( my brother and I) at school as usual, but this time, he wanted to take another route. We’d normally pass through Ibadan to my school which is situated in Ife and this journey isn’t usually more than 2 hours, but this time, he said he had a meeting at Ejigbo on Sunday Morning and therefore, we were going to pass through Ejigbo to Ife. That would be my first time passing that route to school and was excited to go on the trip back to school.
We left home at exactly 8am yesterday(Sunday) to start the journey. That’s my brother and my dad at the front seat and that’s me at the back seat after fighting with my brother for the back seat. I always love the comfort of the back seat.
So, we started the road trip and linked the expressway about 15 minutes after we left home. I had my 5alive pulpy drink to entertain me, it prevents me from getting road sick.
We passed through another town known as Ajaawa
We then passed through some little villages before we got to Ejigbo where my dad had his meeting. We got to Ejigbo around 10:31, which was 2 hours and 31 minutes after we left home for our journey. My dad went for his meeting which he told us shouldn’t take more than an hour, so that we can continue our journey, but later lasted for more than 4 hours. He parked under a shade and rolled down the car’s window while we waited for him. That has to be the longest 4 hours of my life, I started greeting antsy, lol.
The meeting ended around 3pm, then we continued our journey, but it was already cloudy and we knew it would probably rain. Of course, there’s no complete road trip in Nigeria without coming across some cows.
From Ejigbo, we got to Ede and I saw places I’ve never seen before. I’ve always wanted to see Redeemers University because I’ve heard a lot about the school and I’m glad I did.
Shortly after we left Ede, it started raining, then it stopped again after a while.
Then we got to Moro, where my University has her center for distance learning. That is not the University’s main campus, but more like a campus for those aspiring to get admitted to the university. Moro also has ForeignLinks University, which is another university I’ve always wanted to see.
We finally got to Ife around 4:30pm and couldn’t be more grateful at this point. I was already tired.
I’d say that the trip was interesting though, I always love road trips, as long as I’m not the driver because I love to take note of my environment and I always love to see new places. I’d definitely love to go on another road trip like this.
That was the end of my trip. I couldn’t post immediately because after being away from school for about 8 months, the whole room was too dirty and messy and a lot of cleaning up had to be done. I slept off immediately after because of stress.
