The educational system of today needs to be changed. The system's attempts to control every aspect of students' lives and learning, including their thought processes, are doing more harm than good. Today's schools must adapt to the proper educational focus.
The educational system needs to be fixed, among other things. Because students' creativity and love of learning are suppressed, they are not developing into lifelong learners. They must prepare to be productive members of society because their motivation is not to learn more but to win ostentatious titles or honors.
The highly competitive school environment must address students' curiosity but mislead them to desire top grades. The pressure to perform well in challenging, work-intensive classes can lead to increased stress levels and detrimental effects on health. This is different from how education should be conducted. Rather than existing solely as a product of their academic performance and the challenges they face in an imperfect educational system, students should be assisted in becoming their most exceptional selves.
