Hello hivers and welcome to the Weekend!
So I was reading this weekend's prompt on best from @galenkp and my initial thoughts are that he is Simply the Best!
Some of you will know that I love this song partly because it was the song that the famous Glasgow Rangers ran out onto the pitch at their stadium Ibrox !
Back to G-dog, why is he the best? I mean he always includes a range of options. Most people I am sure just take the easy route, well that is boring for me. Life is about exploring, and I love how whenever I do these challenges, I end up exploring something!
In fact, sometimes, I explore so much that I never get my draft finished in time to hit that publish button before the countdown timer has run out.
Today, he got me off investigating text colours in markup lol. In HTML it is easy enough, and I have been writing in HTML since before many of you were probably even born. I will keep exploring but in the meantime let's get back to the matter in hand.
Tell us the part of your body, or someone else's, that you consider the best bit. Describe it and tell us why you find it to be the best part. Feel free to be very descriptive and include photos if you feel inclilned. You can also do a fictional story here if you wish.
If I am honest, I find the best body part on anyone is their eyes.
“The tongue may hide the truth but the eyes—never!”
― Mikhail Bulgakov, The Master and Margarita
Being a full bloodied male, of course my eyes were immediately drawn to the first image in the challenge post, yep the boobs, I won't lie🤣🤣🤣
To me the eyes really are the window to the soul. I meet someone and the first thing that I look at, are their eyes. They reveal everything, and almost immediately I have formed a lasting impression of that person.
However, I am not here to talk about the best part of someone else's body. No No No .... that would be far too easy, rather I will attempt to tell you about my best body part!
Initially growing up, it would have been my legs, as I was extremely sporty, but age catches up with us all, and I am no longer the active sports fanatic that I was, yep archair sportsman is here writing this article.
The brain would seem to be the obvious choice, I have a degree in Chemical Engineering, a Masters in Knowledge Management, a thirst for knowledge and a neverending quest to keep learning.
That would be easy too, and in reality it is not my brain as a whole, but two particular parts.
The parts of the brain that control imagination are the occipital cortex (at the back of the brain), involved in vision and also important for recreating visual experiences, and the posterior precuneus (located internally between the two cerebral hemispheres).
Are you expecting to see these body parts in pictures? Am I going to show them to you?
By the way, thank you galen for making me remember my school biology lessons!
My best part of my body is my imagination, fed by my eyes👀
Can you guess who said that Imagination is more important than knowledge?
Give yourself a pat on your back if you said it was Albert Einstein.
It was from an answer to a question in an interview with G.S. Viereck that was printed in a 1929 magazine article
[Viereck] “Then you trust more to your imagination than to your knowledge?” Source George Sylvester Viereck, 'What Life Means to Einstein', Saturday Evening Post (26 Oct 1929), 117 I fullheartedly agree that imagination is more important, I know mine has no limits! A WALK IN THE PARK
[Einstein] “I am enough of the artist to draw freely upon my imagination. Imagination is more important than knowledge. Knowledge is limited. Imagination encircles the world.”
He was a cute wee thing, and I saw him and of course just had to pull out my phone to take his picture.
He seemed to pose and appeared not to mind when I starting walked towards him.
So I started talking to him as if he was a dog. He stopped then looked at me and ... yes he actually ventured a little closer to me.
I said right come on then, why not pose for me?
So in this next picture you can see he has moved away from the tree and come much closer to me. He also did his side pose and said come on then take your picture already. I duly obliged and snapped this picture. As I was walking away Sammy the squirrel told me to go to the lake and talk to his friend Dafty, because Dafty is a big showoff.
So I turned around and went back to the lake, actually it was only about 20 metres away, so with a hop skip and a jump I was there already.
Sure enough I saw a duck that I hadn't seen before.Usually they are Mallard ducks at the park. This one I had not seen before. So I asked Dafty if it was okay to take a picture of him. Dafty said sure and here is Dafty in all his morning glory. Quite a cute looking duck I thought. Dafty then said he was a comedian.
I said to Dafty, well then tell me a joke. Dafty said he would go one better and show me a joke.
Dafty, will you show me a joke I asked, yes he said, just take a picture of me and then ask what I am doing.
Okay I said and waited and then took this picture. Dafty popped his head back up out of the water and asked if I had taken the picture of him. I said of course I have, now what is the joke?He said wait for it.
I said well I am waiting....
and waiting ...
Then Dafty starts quacking like a mad ducker, keeps quacking and eventually says through his quacks, that was a duck ducking!
I am quackers he says. Do you know that they call me Dafty coz I'm daft like a brush.
I told him, you are bloody quackers all right.
I told him I had to go do some more walking. He suddenly quacks loudly WAIT.
What is it now I ask him. He says don't go I have something to show you. He quacks take my picture, go on I dare you.
Okay I say, tell me when.
Now he says.
This picture was the result.
Feeling confused I asked him what was that all about?
He says did you get it?
Yes I said.
Oh good he says.
Good what I say.
He quacks like a mad ducker again and I swear I see tears in his eyes.
I am still confused.
He finally manages to breathe and says, I made an ass out of you!
Well charming I say, till we meet again Dafty.
