Attending mountain’s call

Climate change, deforestation, Carbon emission, urbanization, and development have deprived us of natural beauty and weather. On one side the greenery of the Earth is ending and on the other hand, the temperature is increasing day by day making hot areas further hotter. 21 July has been the hottest day on the planet in 100 thousand of mankind's history. According to a survey, some parts of the Earth will become unliveable soon if the average temperature keeps on rising.

I also live in such a hot area. Though it’s the countryside but humid heat is making the place unbearable. ACs don’t work properly due to load shedding and low voltage current. And the ceiling and pedestal fan's air can’t even dry the sweat. In all this dilemma, we were left we no other option except to head towards the mountains to pass some days in respite. Being in a brown family is not so easy, you have to ask first even if you are going from one room to another(not exactly, it is just a metaphor). So after intense insistence, we got the permission and budget as well.

We set out on our journey last Sunday. Sun was scattering scorching heat that day even. But we were happy because we knew our destination would welcome us with an amazing coolness. On the fixed time, we commenced our journey towards our destination i.e. Nathiya Galli.

Nathiya Galli is a hill station a few miles away from Murree. We selected this because Murree is very crowded these days and due to excessive urbanization, the weather in Murree is also getting hotter than it was before. Instead of using the “Stop, Rest and Resume” strategy, continued our journey. The travel was almost 5 hours during which we passed through the Hazara-DIK CPEC route and then the Islamabad-Murree motorway.

As we were getting closer to our final destination, the weather was improving and we were coming across scenic beauty which was enchanting our eyes. These 5 hours didn’t feel cumbersome because we were fully excited and the journey passed chirping like birds.

We reached Nathiya Galli in the afternoon. The temperature there was below 20 degrees Celsius scale and we were surrounded by moving clouds. We wanted to enjoy all this and inhale that coldness within us but before that, there was a need to arrange something for a living. The living expenses here were much higher than in Murree and the reason for this availability of fewer hotels. After searching and bargaining we managed to find room for 15k per night.

We were tension-free now so we dropped all our luggage in the hotel’s room and stepped out to enjoy what we had here. That place was a masterpiece in it. Cold breeze, moving clouds, and heightened green hills ornated by long and big pine trees were multiplying the charm of Nathiya Galli and we were experiencing all this attraction.

It was cold there and there was time for dinner so we entered “Chai Khana” (Tea house) to have tea. We spent time there talking to each other and observing people. We were heavily tired but that tea was fantastic enough to open our eyes and fresh us.

When we came out after drinking tea, it was dark outside. We strolled into the market. Many people were wandering there. Some were buying goods while some were just enjoying just like us. After wandering for an hour in the market, we felt hungry so we looked for a good restaurant. One of my cousins asked us to eat in a famous restaurant “Butt KAdahi”. As he showed his desire so there was no other option and we stepped into it.

The restaurant was filled with customers. We shortly found our table as well. It was decorated well giving aesthetic touch. We ordered for what this resturant is renowned i.e. Kadahii but we picked two different kadahis. One was simple kadahi of Desi murgh while the second was Chicken white kadahi. We were served with order in 20 minutes which we did bother because we were enjoying the surroundings. The meal was very delicious. It was spicy and cooked well just like we love to eat.

After the dinner, we wanted to amble further but our body didn't allow us and we rolled towards our hotel to resuscitate energy for further days. This is how I ended my Sunday last week. I spent 5 days there. I will narrate my further experiences there in upcoming posts. This is for now.
Remember me in your prayers.
Stay blessed.
