Hello community:

I love birthday celebrations whether it's my own, my family's or my circle of friends. One more year of life is more than enough reason to celebrate.

We begin to age as soon as we are born: first we are children free of responsibilities and worries, always wanting to have fun; then we gain awareness as we become adults and start to own our actions; finally our body ages even though our mind feels young and our fears of life increase due to the experience of what we have lived through before.

Life gets more serious as we get older, but we must not lose the spirit of fun and celebration for being part of this planet. I believe it is an important part of our emotional health and regenerates the strength to carry on.

Another year and we are back to the same place we were that time ago. I celebrate these occasions and join in celebrating with those who do too. I am happy to accompany people in whatever way they choose, be it with a party, a walk, a cake, a drink or a glass of water.

There are times when we feel sad because of problems of various kinds, however, on birthdays in my family we make exceptions and celebrate birthdays. It is a different day, with moments of joy and a lot of affection from the people you love and who love you.

Children's birthdays are special, because the celebration is multiplied in joy with other children friends. We enjoy their laughter, their singing and even their funny dances with their little bodies.

Sometimes we celebrate at home, where to the rhythm of hand clapping we sing "Happy Birthday" and blow out the candles that are held by a cake. The children love this ritual.

When we celebrate a birthday, our own and others', we are celebrating life. May we never forget to celebrate the birthdays that bring us so much wellbeing.

I try to take the day off work when it's my birthday, I think it's a nice day to reflect on life, think about the last year and focus upon the next to come.

Do you have a particular birthday you've celebrated that you would call the best?

I don't recall any one in particular that stands out. I have always spent it as a family, although I could say that my birthdays after the birth of my children are much better. Thanks for stopping by and leaving me these words, I appreciate it.

I understand. I have one that stands out for me. My partner surprised me with plane tickets overseas and we went to France and Italy. We spent my birthday in Paris walking all day, had lunch in the park, Tuileries gardens, and stayed out well into the night after a lovely dinner at a quaint little restaurant. The day wasn't fancy or expensive, but it was beautiful and very memorable.

I like celebrating birthdays too, just not my own as I don't like being the centre of attention at all. Other people's birthdays are cool though, especially the children as good memories can be made for them and carried forward into their lives.

I think that once a year it is worth being the centre of attention. I'm happy to be congratulated on that day by phone or in person. It doesn't always have to be a party and with lots of people. I think that company is fundamental on that day and that they accompany me in what I would like to do. It is very nice that someone wants to spend that day with you, it is a special occasion.

I will think about Paris, maybe it will take me to celebrate a birthday there. 😊

I can see you wrote this from the heart and I appreciate that, which is why I commented. I have to read so many posts over the weekend and don't always have the time to comment ono them all with any real substance, but I did with yours.
