The best of my life

Last week I was accompanying a friend to his mother's funeral at the funeral home in Santiago de las Vegas. His mother, still young, became ill and died suddenly. Death took away an important part of her life.

My body will go to this same place when I am no longer alive (if I am still living in the same place) or to another similar place.... Well, that's what the living will take care of when it's their turn. Today this post took me to this place again to take a picture of its main façade and while I was walking I was thinking about how I have lived.

I have only one chance to be happy and it's called life. My best life is the one I have, the one I have lived as I have been able to and as I have wanted to with the opportunities I have received and I have known how to take advantage of or discard.

I have had the good fortune of being born into a humble family with few material possessions, but rich in values and spirit. My parents have been able to guide me along the path of the search for happiness. PoThey have been my teachers, teaching me how to deal with the not-so-good things that we all inexorably have to go through on the road of life. They have shown me the right path and have allowed me to walk alone and have accompanied me on the journey to support me.

I am infinitely grateful that my health has been my ally during all this time, except on a few occasions, but nothing that has lasted for a long time or has transcended gravity.

I fall in love with my profession more and more every day, because I see the positive results for the development of such an important activity as building for the benefit of man as an individual, in harmony with the environment. My work also gives me joy, although the salary is not fair with the current prices (for nobody), but it is the cost of my happiness in terms of my profession that I would not change for another.

In love I have been blessed by my family and friends who I can always count on and they always count on me. I have loved and been loved. I have a husband that I adore and makes me feel special at every moment, even though sometimes I want to kill him ha ha ha ha just kidding. Not everything is rosy, but that is also part of life and reconciliations are also enjoyable.

My children are two stars that came to complete my fulfilment in life. They complement me and give me the necessary strength to get up every day and keep fighting. A continuous struggle, one day after the other and every day a battle to win in which I always try to do the best for them and for me. Educating is not easy, but if my parents were able to do it for me, I will be able to do it for them too, because I have their lessons engraved like tattoos on my skin and I will raise them with the same values.

I haven't had everything I've wanted materially (I don't think even millionaires have), but spiritually I feel rich because everything I've had has been thanks to my efforts. It is something I am proud of and I continue to strive every day to get what I want. I believe that what is obtained through hard work and dedication is better savoured than what is received through gifts.

If I were to die today, I would die knowing that I have lived my best life. A life with satisfactions and dreams fulfilled with sacrifices and restrictions in the economic sphere, but with a lot of effort in personal and family self-improvement and achievements.
